Villains Set to Appear in Captain America: Brave New World, From Red Hulk to Sidewinder and More

The upcoming Marvel movie, titled Captain America: Brave New World, starring Anthony Mackie as Captain America, is causing a lot of excitement among fans before it hits the screens. What’s unique about this film is that instead of just one or two villains, there are five antagonists for Sam Wilson’s character to face off against.

The storyline will center on Wilson’s plan to undermine the U.S. government by devising covert strategies. However, with the Avengers no longer supporting him and growing public anticipations, the new Captain America faces significant responsibilities. Moreover, he must contend with a formidable group of adversaries converging against him simultaneously.

Here’s a list of villains that you will see in Captain America: Brave New World:

Red Hulk

In the comics, Sam Wilson faces fewer antagonists, so the writers introduced some from the Hulk’s universe to provide more challenges. Although Thaddeus Ross first appeared in Captain America: Civil War, fans eagerly anticipate his transformation into one of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe’s iconic villains, Red Hulk.

Given that the franchise has confirmed its upcoming projects fall under Marvel’s Phase 5, it seems fitting for Ross to now assume the role of the Hulk’s villain (the Anti-Hulk).

 

Sabra

In comic books, the character known as Sabra is depicted as Israeli superhero Ruth Bat-Seraph. But in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, her representation will be different. A sneak peek from Brave New World reveals actress Shira Haas portraying Ruth Bat-Seraph.

As reported, this character has a past as the Black Widow but has shifted allegiances to President Ross. It’s plausible that she could clash with Wilson and potentially challenge both him and Ross, solidifying her role as one of the secondary villains in the movie.

 

Sidewinder

Actor Giancarlo Esposito, known for his roles in Breaking Bad and The Boys, didn’t initially join the cast but came on board during the movie’s reshoots. For a while, there was much speculation about the character he would play until it was finally revealed at San Diego Comic-Con.

In the upcoming series, Seth Voelker, also known as Sidewinder, will take on the role of the King of the Serpent Society. While he is expected to be a significant adversary in “Brave New World,” it’s important to note that the portrayal in this adaptation may differ from his character as depicted in the original comic books.

 

The Leader

At last, we’ll uncover the enigma surrounding Samuel Sterns, alias The Leader! You might remember him from Tim Blake Nelson’s portrayal in The Incredible Hulk, nearly 16 years back. With a brief glimpse of the adversary shown from behind in one shot in the upcoming movie’s trailer, it’s confirmed that The Leader has returned!

 

Diamondback

Rosa Salazar is slated to portray Rachel Leighton, also known as Diamondback, in the upcoming series “Brave New World.” As a part of the notorious Serpent Society, it remains unclear whether she will embody a tough, formidable character or serve as a romantic interest for the main character. The answer to this question will be revealed on Valentine’s Day, February 14, when “Captain America: Brave New World” premieres in cinemas globally.
