Video Mocks AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Cast Reveal, Using Marvel Legends Figures

The latest Marvel Studios’ livestream unveiling the cast for “Avengers: Doomsday” sent waves across the internet. For more than five and a half hours, a video showcased chairs with actors’ names, ultimately revealing a team of 27 stars for the upcoming movie. This live event spawned numerous memes on social media. Among them, one that caught our attention is a video by YouTuber Markez Films. Instead of displaying the actors’ chairs, they showcased the characters themselves, using their Marvel Legends action figures as stand-ins. You can enjoy this fun and entertaining parody in the video below, which lasts less than two minutes – quite a relief from the original five-hour stream!

In the same sequence as the original unveiling, each character is presented. Some action figures from the video depict characters originating in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), while others represent comic book characters such as Beast and Gambit from the X-Men. This pattern also applies to the members of the Fantastic Four. It’s likely that the cast of Fantastic Four: First Steps will eventually receive their own Marvel Legends figures, but until then, their comic book counterparts in plastic form will suffice. Additionally, it seems that some of those X-Men figures resemble vintage ones from the early 2000s.

Was the live-streamed stunt for Marvel Studio’s original “Avengers: Doomsday” a tad absurd and somewhat irritating? Indeed. But it did manage to attract an impressive 275 million viewers. That’s the allure of the Marvel brand, folks. Although it may have lost some luster in recent phases, it’s definitely not extinct. In fact, if they were to pull off a similar live stream for the rest of the cast (provided there is one), we recommend using action figures instead. It’s simply more entertaining to watch, and the event would pass by much quicker.

Avengers: Doomsday hit theaters everywhere on May 1, 2026.
