As a die-hard MCU fan who has been following this universe since its inception, I must admit that the news about Red Hulk‘s appearance in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie has left me in a state of perpetual confusion. On one hand, I’m thrilled at the prospect of seeing Harrison Ford reprise his role as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross and transform into the Crimson Giant. On the other hand, Daniel Richtman’s claims seem more reliable, given Variety’s apparent mistake in their reporting.
The Red Hulk is set to make a significant impact in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). In the upcoming movie, “Captain America: Brave New World”, Harrison Ford will make his debut as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a role he’s taking on. This will be Anthony Mackie’s first standalone film as Captain America.
Ford took over the role after the demise of William Hurt. He’s previously been featured in promotional content for the film, displaying his metamorphosis into the Red Colossus.
As a die-hard fan, I was thrilled to hear the news that Harrison Ford might be back as Red Hulk in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie. But then, a trusted source, Daniel Richtman, stirred things up by suggesting that there’s no truth to this, and Red Hulk won’t even make an appearance in the film. It’s left us fans in a bit of a dilemma!
Variety probably made a mistake because he’s 100% not in it

What makes this news noteworthy could be questioned, given that Variety is usually reliable; however, considering the circumstances, Richtman’s account appears to hold more weight, suggesting that Variety may have made a mistake in this particular instance.
The basis for Variety’s statements is an older article from Hollywood Reporter when Ford’s casting was initially announced. Back then, it made sense that Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross might play a significant role in Thunderbolts, considering the team’s name and his affiliation with it.
Nevertheless, fresh developments suggest that the team depicted in Thunderbolts comics won’t carry Ross’ name as initially thought. Instead, it will be named after Yelena and Natasha’s childhood football squad, causing a stir among fans who anticipate Ross playing a role in selecting the team members.
It appears that instead, the Thunderbolts are set to be enlisted by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine for unique purposes. In light of the busy plotline, it’s seeming improbable that Red Hulk will make an appearance in the film.
