On September 17, Lala Kent shared pictures of her newborn daughter Sosa online and discussed the challenging events leading up to her second childbirth on her podcast, “Give Them Lala.” Sosa was born on September 3.
34-year-old former star of Vanderpump Rules, who recently showed glimpses into her life as a mother of two on social media, disclosed during her latest podcast episode that her experience with her second pregnancy wasn’t easy due to one issue connected to the delivery of her daughter, Sosa. At first, Kent said that Sosa’s birth was swift and trouble-free, but she noticed the doctors’ worry when her baby girl was born.
In a disclosure, it was made known that the medical team found the umbilical cord tightly wound around the newborn’s neck on several occasions.
She described how she held her newborn, but Sosa emitted only a single cry before falling silent. This encounter, as Kent put it, left her feeling cold, and she chose not to touch her baby to prevent any further shock, since medical personnel were attempting to extract something from Sosa’s mouth at the time.
Kent commented that it was advantageous for her to emerge swiftly since I needed minimal pushes. However, due to her initial delivery, she ingested a large amount of amniotic fluid, which caused a delay in her departure from the medical center by one day.
“She had so much fluid that she was vomiting all the food out,” the reality star continued.
After Sosa exhibited an unusual purple color shortly following her birth, medical professionals at the hospital called in a pediatric specialist to evaluate the situation since her condition appeared abnormal. Kent explained that the medical team had extracted 10 milliliters of amniotic fluid from Sosa’s stomach on the first occasion, followed by an additional 8 ml. She recounted being told by doctors that they were contemplating keeping Sosa in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) due to the continuous draining of the fluid through her nose that wouldn’t stop.
Fortunately, Sosa recovered well without needing intense medical attention. Interestingly, Kent shared that their newborn baby has already put on an additional pound since leaving the hospital.
On the 17th of September, Kent shared a pair of heartwarming photos featuring Sosa. One image included Sosa’s older sister, Ocean (age 3), tenderly embracing and giving kisses to their newly expanded household member.
I’m utterly smitten by her, and so is everyone else. Sosa, little do you know the impact you’ve made on my life. I feel incredibly fortunate to be called your mother,” the actress from ‘Row’ expressed partially in her caption.
For those who may not know, Kent shares Ocean with her ex-fiance Randall Emmett, while Sosa was conceived via sperm donor.
