Val Kilmer Dies At 65, Star Of Batman, Top Gun, Tombstone

65-year-old actor Val Kilmer, famed for his diverse roles such as the Dark Knight in Batman Forever, Goose in Top Gun, Doc Holliday in Tombstone, Jim Morrison in The Doors, and Willow among others, has passed away.

According to Mercedes Kilmer, who spoke to the New York Times, her father, Jim, unfortunately succumbed to pneumonia. Previously, in 2014, he was diagnosed with throat cancer, but remarkably managed to recover from it. On Tuesday, he passed away peacefully in Los Angeles.

In his latest social media update, the actor shared pictures and a video featuring him as Batman. Notably, Val Kilmer, who’s famous for his art sales, showcased some of his artwork and himself donning a Batman mask in the post.

His last social media post came on March 22 featuring more of his art.

Val Kilmer initially honed his acting skills at Juilliard School before making a name for himself in the film industry. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, he made his Hollywood debut in 1984 with the film ‘Top Secret!’. He went on to gain fame in ‘Real Genius’ (1985) and ‘Top Gun’ (1986). After a couple of TV appearances, he starred in ‘Willow’ (1988) and ‘The Doors’ (1991), followed by the release of ‘Tombstone’ in 1993. In 1995, both ‘Batman Forever’ and ‘Heat’ hit the screens. Fast forward to 2022, Kilmer made his final appearance as Goose in ‘Top Gun: Maverick’.
