It’s been announced that Keepsake Games has decided to call its upcoming cooperative game, which was previously known as Jump Ship, “Jump Space” instead. The reason for this change is due to some trademark issues, referred to as “trademark complications,” that necessitated the name alteration.
Last year, the Jump Space demo drew significant interest, particularly after its latest demonstration – it even ranked among the top three most-played demos at the recent Steam Next Fest. As a result, the game surpassed the landmark of one million wishlists on the platform.
This cooperative shooter lets gamers control a spaceship and embark on PvE missions involving the exploration of wrecked ships or asteroids. Players can effortlessly transition between being in space or on a planet, and each playthrough offers a unique experience. The ship can be upgraded based on the requirements of specific missions to ensure an enjoyable gaming experience.
This game shares characteristics similar to Sea of Thieves and Wildgate, yet it offers less turbulence because there are no adversarial player-controlled ships. That’s what makes it an appealing choice for players who enjoy a more peaceful, single-player or cooperative experience without intense multiplayer PvP encounters.
The Early Access release date for Jump Space will be announced at Gamescom 2025.
