Towards the close of the book, Feyd-Rautha challenges Paul Atreides for dominion over the Entire Known Realm in a ceremonial duel called kanly. True to form, Feyd resorts to deceit, attempting to slay Paul. However, the cunning young claimant was well-prepared and emerged victorious, ultimately slaying Feyd in battle.

As a passionate cinephile reminiscing about Dune, I’m sharing an event that struck me deeply. To ensure compliance, the Baron had also abducted Dr. Yueh’s wife and threatened to inflict pain upon her if he disobeyed.

Dr. Yeuh secretly places a tooth filled with poison gas into the Duke’s mouth and then hands him over to the Baron, hoping to kill the Baron in the process. Later, Dr. Yueh is killed by De Vries, and the Duke accidentally bites down on the poisonous tooth. Unfortunately, both the Baron and De Vries end up dying from the incident. This event is later elaborated upon in subsequent novels.
