Recently, some previously unseen posters for the 2016 movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice have appeared online. These seem to be images that weren’t actually used in the film’s original marketing.
The new posters feature Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, along with fresh character designs never before released to fans.

Photos appeared on the website of Joshua Ecton, a creative director, and seem to be unused or early ideas for marketing materials from the film’s initial release.

Unused Batman v Superman Posters Appear Online
Recently revealed artwork showcases Ben Affleck as Batman in several dramatic, armored poses, often in the rain. It also features Henry Cavill’s Superman prominently displaying his iconic “S” shield, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman both on her own and prepared for battle, and stylized versions of the Batman v Superman logo. Artwork of Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor is also included, among other pieces.
The posters all include the original release date of March 25, 2016, and the hashtag #BatmanvSuperman, indicating they were likely created for the studio’s marketing but never actually used.
The film grossed over $875 million at the time, which in today’s dollars is nearly $1.2 billion.

Found on Joshua Ecton’s Website
The posters were found on Joshua Ecton’s website, which showcases his work as a senior art director and creative lead.
The images don’t appear to be new; they seem to be older materials from Warner Bros.’ initial marketing campaign that were never used.
I’ve been looking at these designs, and honestly, they feel so official – the quality is incredible and they perfectly match the movie’s style. A lot of fans, like me, think these must have been real concepts the studio created, but for some reason, they never actually used them in the posters, trailers, or any of the advertising. It’s a shame, because they’re fantastic!

Timing Cоincides With Zack Snyder DCEU Posts
These posters have appeared just as Zack Snyder has been posting fresh images from his DC movies, like Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Justice League.
Those posts have reignited conversation around the DCEU and Snyder’s unfinished plans.
Now that Zack Snyder is revisiting his work on DC films, the recent appearance of previously unseen promotional artwork feels intentional to fans.

SnyderVerse Restoration Talk Heats Up
These posters are appearing as rumors increase about the possible return of Zack Snyder’s vision for the DC Universe, particularly with discussions surrounding a potential sale of Warner Bros. Discovery.
We’ve been told a sale could open the door to revisiting abandoned DC timelines and projects.
Although it hasn’t been officially announced, the recent appearance of these posters has sparked a lot of online conversation. Many fans see them as a sign of just how grand and extensive Zack Snyder’s plans were for the DC Universe.

A Look Back at a Divisive DC Era
Even now, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice continues to be a much-discussed and debated superhero movie.
These recently discovered posters show a possible alternate marketing strategy, one that focused more on mythical themes and recognizable character symbols.
For dedicated DC Comics enthusiasts, these visuals feel like a lost piece of the past appearing just when it should.
