Untitled Marvel Movie Rumored to Start Filming in Fall 2025—Here Are 3 Top Candidates!

As a long-time Marvel fan who has followed the studio’s every move since the early days of Iron Man, I can’t help but feel my heart racing with anticipation as we approach 2025. With so many exciting projects lined up, it’s like Christmas came early for us comic book enthusiasts!

Marvel has just revised their release plan for the years 2024, 2025, and onwards. The year 2025 is looking busy as it will feature both live-action and animated productions, with several projects either currently in production or about to start soon.

2025 looks packed for the studio’s production calendar, as three major films – “Avengers: Doomsday”, “Spider-Man 4”, and “Vision Quest” – are slated to begin shooting predominantly in England.

According to industry source Daniel Richtman, it’s been announced that another Marvel production is set to start shooting in the United Kingdom during autumn 2025.

According to an article in Richtman’s subscription-based news service (not yet verified by Marvel themselves), there are some upcoming Marvel films that appear to be more probable than others due to the numerous rumored and confirmed projects currently underway, making it challenging to stay updated.

As a diehard Marvel fan, I’m eagerly anticipating the possibility that the next film could be none other than “Shang-Chi 2”. Back in December 2021, the Marvel universe dropped a bombshell announcement: a sequel to “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”! Destin Daniel Cretton is set to return as both writer and director for this highly anticipated follow-up. And let’s not forget that Simu Liu will be back, continuing his incredible portrayal of Shang-Chi. Initially, filming was scheduled for March 2025, but since then, updates have been scarce as the production team works on bringing this exciting story to life.

Lately, it’s been buzzing that Liu has posted a workout video, sparking theories he might reprise his MCU character. If plans hold, Shang-Chi 2 could slot nicely into the 2025 lineup, given whispers of its release falling between Doomsday and Secret Wars. The Ten Rings are said to be crucial in the Multiverse Saga much like the Infinity Stones were for earlier phases.

It’s highly probable that the next movie could be “Doctor Strange 3”. Lately, there have been plenty of whispers about this upcoming sequel. Benedict Cumberbatch is said to reprise his role, and there are hints that Charlize Theron’s character, Clea, will take on a more significant part. The movie is believed to delve into a group known as the Black Priests and include Dormammu. Strange is expected to try to rectify the “incursions” he has initiated.

Initially, there were rumors that Denzel Washington might play the part of Dormammu, but he eventually clarified that Ryan Coogler has planned a character specifically for him in Black Panther 3.

Based on speculation about Doctor Strange’s pivotal part in the Multiverse Saga, it appears that Doctor Strange 3 is a likely choice to fill that upcoming production schedule.

The third possible movie is likely to be one of the MCU’s darkest productions—Blade.

Back in May of 2013, Marvel Studios started working on a fresh adaptation of the Blade movie following their acquisition of the rights. Then, in February 2019, Mahershala Ali showed interest in embodying Blade, and in July of that same year, Marvel confirmed the project with Ali attached. Notably, Ali even lent his voice for a brief appearance as Blade in the 2021 film, Eternals.

In February 2021, Stacy Osei-Kuffour was appointed to write the screenplay, and Bassam Tariq was selected as the director for a project. Unfortunately, Tariq departed from the project in 2022 due to modifications in production and creative discrepancies. Yann Demange took over directing duties in November 2022, with various script revisions contributed by several writers. However, Demange also stepped down from the production in March 2024.

Initially, filming for the movie Blade was intended to occur in Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Atlanta. However, by October 2024, the release of Blade had been taken off the schedule.

In spite of any concerns, Kevin Feige has assured fans that the project is still under development at the studio, with Ali set to remain a part of it. Provided the script gets finished, shooting might commence as soon as autumn 2025.
