It’s been several months since we tragically lost one of America’s most influential filmmakers, David Lynch, at the age of 78. The film world is missing his unique vision and creativity. We’ve learned that soon, a large number of David Lynch’s personal belongings will be put up for auction, which was announced through Gizmodo. For fans of Lynch’s extensive body of work like us, there are many items in this collection that we would love to acquire. These treasures span his almost 50-year career, including pieces from films such as Mulholland Drive, Twin Peaks, Dune, and his debut film, Eraserhead. As a die-hard film fanatic, I can’t hide my excitement over some extraordinary items up for grabs at the David Lynch estate auction! Among these treasures are the chilling menus from Winkie’s, the Denny’s stand-in with the dreadful presence lurking behind it in Mulholland Drive. There’s also his personal 35mm print of Eraserhead, the groundbreaking film that catapulted him into stardom. The world of Twin Peaks is well-represented too, with Lynch’s original script from the series when it was known as Northwest Passage, along with Fire Walk With Me. Add to that a framed photo of the atomic bomb test, which once adorned Gordon Cole’s office in Twin Peaks: The Return – an item that perfectly ties in with Lynch himself portraying Gordon Cole in the series. This auction is truly a dream come true for any Lynch enthusiast!
Among the most fascinating pieces up for grabs is David Lynch’s unique rendition of the red curtains and zigzag patterns, an iconic symbol from the television series “Twin Peaks.” However, the true treasure in this auction is Lynch’s authentic director’s chair, bearing his name.
