Universal Announces JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH Heading to Theaters 2025

As a cinephile with a heart that beats for blockbusters, I’ve seen my fair share of sequels and reboots that could fill a Jurassic World-sized amusement park. But here we are again, gearing up for another installment in the Jurassic saga. It’s like the dinosaurs themselves have taken over Hollywood’s schedule!

As a dedicated fan, it seems like studios just can’t seem to let go of their successful franchises these days. The money train never stops rolling! With my last three Jurassic World movies surpassing the $1 billion mark each time, it’s hard not to feel invincible. And that’s exactly how Universal feels about their exceptionally popular Jurassic World franchise, which “concluded” only three years ago with Jurassic World Dominion. Now, they’re announcing a fresh take on the story, titled Jurassic World Rebirth, scheduled for release in July 2025. This is like having another Friday the 13th! Just as Part V: A New Beginning was released a mere 11 months after Part IV: The Final Chapter in the ’80s, it looks like we’ll be seeing more dinosaur action sooner than expected!

As a fervent admirer, let me share that Gareth Edwards, who’s proven his prowess with colossal productions like the indie sensation “Monsters” and the blockbuster “Godzilla,” will be at the helm for the upcoming film. David Koepp, the original Jurassic Park screenwriter, has penned the script for “Jurassic World Rebirth.” The star-studded cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey.

Five years following the incidents of Jurassic World Dominion, Earth’s ecosystem has mostly proven unsuitable for dinosaurs. The few survivors inhabit secluded equatorial areas characterized by climates similar to their original habitats. Within this tropical sanctuary reside the three largest creatures, whose existence is crucial to a drug that could offer extraordinary life-saving advantages to humanity.

In this adaptation: The Academy Award-nominated actress Johansson portrays Zora Bennett, a highly skilled operative in covert operations, hired to execute a top-secret mission. This mission involves gathering genetic material from the globe’s largest dinosaurs. However, Zora’s operation encounters a civilian family whose boat trip was disrupted by prehistoric marine creatures. As a result, they all become stranded on an island, where they stumble upon a chilling secret that has been concealed from humanity for many years.

Ali is identified as Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s reliable head of team; Emmy-nominated and Olivier Award winner Jonathan Bailey (from “Wicked” and “Bridgerton”) portrays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis; Emmy-nominee Rupert Friend (known for “Homeland” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi”) depicts Martin Krebs, a representative from Big Pharma; and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (from “The Lincoln Lawyer” and “Murder on the Orient Express”) takes on the role of Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked family.

In this movie, you’ll find Luna Blaise known from “Manifest”, David Iacono recognized in “The Summer I Turned Pretty”, and Audrina Miranda famed for “Lopez vs. Lopez” portraying the family of Reuben. Additionally, Philippine Velge (familiar from “Station Eleven”), Bechir Sylvain (popular in “BMF”) and Ed Skrein (recognized in “Deadpool”) are part of the teams led by Zora and Krebs.

11 months till the roaring return of “Jurassic World: Rebirth”! Despite my indifference towards the past three Jurassic World films, it’s evident that the dinosaur action has kept audiences worldwide enthralled. It seems that even the most fearsome prehistoric creatures like thunder-lizards can’t be wiped out completely.
