Cygames has initiated the Golshi Week celebration within Umamusume: Pretty Derby. This special occasion honors the illustrious career of the renowned racehorse Gold Ship, and it will continue until August 22, 2025. Players can enjoy a variety of in-game bonuses, along with the introduction of the challenging Golshi Mode during this period.
During the festivities, Cygames had planned to activate a Gold Ship bot on their official Discord server. The aim was for this bot to respond with memorable lines from the Gold Ship franchise, in true Gold Ship style. However, just like some of our favorite characters from the series, things didn’t go exactly as intended and the bot malfunctioned.
The amusing irony wasn’t missed by the community that the AI, patterned after Gold Ship known for creating turmoil in reality and Umamusume due to its untrainable behavior, malfunctioned and acted just like its model – resulting in more entertainment from this glitch than they would’ve had with a properly functioning bot.
The antics have brought joy and optimism to the community too, as fans globally are grieving over the loss of one of the animals depicted in Umamusume: Grass Wonder, who sadly passed away at the venerable age of 30 – an exceptional lifespan for a racehorse.
