For Cygames, the worldwide launch of Umamusume: Pretty Derby has been akin to a racehorse winning the Triple Crown – a crowning achievement. Not only did it garner impressive figures on Steam, but it also skyrocketed into one of the most beloved anime franchises globally due to its game’s widespread popularity. However, this success comes with a cost that the players are currently bearing.
Frequent interruptions during training sessions occur due to unstable connections, causing frustrations as these disruptions also affect the game’s somewhat awkward menu navigation. Every click brings up a line of text saying “Connecting…” that slows down actions significantly and hinders game progress so much that even the speedy Haru Urara would struggle to beat it in a race.
These concerns are universal among fans worldwide, indicating that they’re not specific to your personal internet service. Instead, it appears these issues stem from the servers themselves, affecting both desktop (PC) and mobile users, and they seem to be escalating in severity.
Cygames has not released any formal comments about these ongoing problems, yet it appears they may have underestimated the game’s success, leading to insufficient server capacity compared to current demands. This can be somewhat understood – nobody predicted such a massive response.
It’s wise for Cygame to address these problems promptly since we’re all gathered here, training as horse girls, and there isn’t much Japanese horse racing history to study while our commands are being processed by the servers. Therefore, it would be better if they handle these issues before they affect the game’s pace.
I’m sorry for any inconvenience, but currently, there’s no action you can take on your part to resolve the “Connecting…” issues with Umamusume. The best thing you can do is inform the developers about the problem you’re encountering.
