As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at the extraordinary talents of the Umamusume: they race, perform, and serenade us with their captivating songs – all while sporting outfits that would leave any fashion-conscious aerodynamicist in awe. Yet, it’s worth noting that not every Umamusume graces the stage in one-of-a-kind attire; some stick to the academy’s standard uniforms, adding an intriguing contrast to their exceptional performances.
To put it simply, each Umamusume’s unique costume needs to be unveiled first for her to don it during races, and I’ll guide you through the process.
How to unlock outfits in Umamusume: Pretty Derby
The unlocking of outfits for the Umamusume characters correlates with their star ratings. Each character’s maximum rating is five stars, and some of these stars are initially accessible upon scouting them, ranging from one to three stars being unlocked at first.
Improving an Umamusume’s star ranking will enhance her fundamental stats and the level of her distinctive ability, making it easier to achieve higher goals during a career race. Once you reach three stars, you’ll unlock the unique racewear for each character. So, if you want to obtain the special outfits, your focus should be on achieving a three-star rating.
How to increase star rating in Umamusume: Pretty Derby
To elevate the star ranking of an Umamusume, you’ll need a special resource called Star Shards. Unlike common resources, each horse-girl has her own unique Star Shards, making it essential to gather those distinctive ones for the enhancement of every Umamusume.
As a devoted fan, I can tell you that Star Pieces, which are crucial for my collection, typically come from two main avenues: Firstly, when I scout using the feature, it may yield duplicates of an Umamusume. Secondly, I can trade Goddess Statues, another resource I acquire through scouting and less frequently from career runs, for Star Pieces in the Statue Shop. Occasionally, these elusive Star Pieces also appear as rewards for completing missions.
To increase a rating from two stars to three stars, you’ll need 100 Star Pieces. On the other hand, if you want to go directly from one star to three stars, you’ll require 150 Star Pieces instead.
