The dark fantasy tale “Übel Blatt” is set in a realm where the emperor selected 14 knights to fend off an incoming enemy force. Three of these knights lost their lives, and four were branded traitors following accusations of betrayal. However, it’s later discovered that the so-called “Seven Heroes” falsely accused their fellow knights for personal advantage.
In the first episode of Übel Blatt, we meet Köinzell – a young man who was once the knight Ascheriit and lived by underhanded methods. Twenty years have passed since his disappearance, and now he’s back, driven by a desire for vengeance against those who wronged him in the past.
After a treacherous betrayal that left him for dead, Ascheriit has been reborn as Köinzell. Now, two decades have passed, and he finds himself at the border town of Rield Flemm. Here, Köinzell forms friendships with runaways Peepi and Vid, along with their guide, Altea.
In unison, they penetrate the hidden monastery situated under the ‘Thousand Sharp Pillars’, encountering corrupted priests misusing their power for personal gain. This event will mark the start of Köinzell’s vengeful journey drenched in blood, which will persist throughout the series.
Episode 1 of “Übel Blatt,” titled ‘Breakthrough,’ is scheduled to premiere on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 12:30 am (Japan Standard Time). Japanese audiences can tune in on Tokyo MX, followed by airings on BS Nippon TV, AT-X, and Kansai TV.
For international viewers, you can start streaming Episode 1 of Übel Blatt one hour post its Japanese broadcast (at 11:30 am EST) via Amazon Prime Video. The episode comes equipped with English subtitles for your convenience. As of now, there’s no word on whether it will be available on platforms such as Crunchyroll or others.
