As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I find it deeply saddening to hear about the untimely demise of OG Maco at such a young age. His story serves as a grim reminder that talent and potential are no match for the struggles that life often throws our way.
32-year-old hip-hop artist OG Maco has tragically passed away following a two-week struggle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. This sad news was announced on his X account on December 27th. Notably recognized for his hit track “U Guessed It,” OG Maco spent his final moments surrounded by family and friends at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, as reported by TMZ.
On numerous social media outlets, the family’s message about the rapper’s passing conveyed: ‘His life exemplified resilience, creativity, and endless love. Via his music, passion, and undying zest, he reached out to countless souls and made an indelible mark.’
Speaking of Benedict Ihesiba Jr., his relatives said in their declaration, “Although we mourn deeply over his passing, we also honor the remarkable life he led – a life that will undoubtedly touch and motivate many more people.
His family shared that the impact Maco left on them is deeply ingrained, asking supporters to express their thoughts and condolences through direct messages (DM).
On December 16th, it was disclosed by Maco’s relatives that, despite being in a critical state, he was currently stable and receiving top-notch medical attention. At that time, they requested that his social media profiles would be the only reliable source for updates on his health situation, while asking for privacy to be respected.
On December 14th, Maco’s manager, Poppa Perc, discussed his condition with AllHipHop. He mentioned that when he initially encountered the rapper, he believed he was unconscious. While appealing for fans to send their prayers, Perc also revealed that Maco was excited about releasing new music under a fresh label and a new stage name.
As Maco Ihesiba Jr., I hail from the vibrant College Park neighborhood of Atlanta. Known then as Maco Mattox, I embarked on my professional journey. In the year 2011, I unleashed my debut mixtape into the world under the title Marty McFly. Fast forward to 2014, I saw the charts light up with my smash hit single, U Guessed It, reaching an impressive No. 90 on the Billboard Hot 100.
