Tyra Banks, who used to host Dancing with the Stars, has disclosed that her house in Los Angeles was sadly consumed by the destructive wildfires currently raging nearby. During a conversation on the Australian morning show Sunrise, she confided, “I’ve lost my home. I haven’t discussed it much, but yes, it’s true.
Tyra Banks, the creator of America’s Next Top Model, shared the reason behind her secrecy about the news for a prolonged period. “I preferred not to draw too much focus on myself,” she stated.
Many individuals require focus on their situations right now, which is why I haven’t discussed it much. However, I can’t keep quiet about it, so it’s true: unfortunately, we did lose our home.
Tyra Banks found out about the wildfires in Australia while she was there, and she remembered spending time with friends while keeping tabs on events back in Los Angeles.
She frequently glanced at her phone, not out of concern for her home, but rather to ensure that her friends and family were safely evacuating and taking care of things.
Banks explained that a particular instance stood out to her when she became aware of the severity of the harm. She recalled saying, ‘This is what I’m observing, what are your thoughts?’ to her partner, who then nodded in agreement.
Regardless of the startling information, she maintained her poise. She shared that she gathered herself and didn’t express her feelings to her friends right away. She further mentioned that they remained silent in that instant, only to return home later and shed tears, allowing themselves a private moment to process the news.
Banks divides her time between Australia and New York City, but certain keepsakes remain in her Los Angeles residence.
She mentioned that some keepsakes are located in New York since they are somewhere between here and there. Fortunately, she didn’t lose those items, but unfortunately, some other treasured memorabilia have been misplaced.
Some of our special memories are in New York because we were in transit between here and there. I’m glad I didn’t lose the ones I had, but sadly, some other keepsakes got lost along the way.
The devastating L.A. wildfires have wreaked havoc, claiming at least 27 lives and leaving more than 15,000 structures in ruins. Firefighters are putting in long hours to control these fires. Currently, the Palisades Fire is over 60% controlled, while the Eaton Fire is approaching 90% containment.
