Ashley Greene and Peter Facinelli, who starred in Twilight, have shared a funny incident that happened during the making of Breaking Dawn.
In the movie series that premiered in 2008, Greene and Facinelli portrayed Alice and Carlisle Cullen, the on-screen father and daughter characters, opposite Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan.
During MegaCon Orlando, panel members from The Twilight Saga reminisced about one of their most humorous behind-the-scenes incidents – snapping pictures with a full-sized cardboard cutout of the character played by Kristen Stewart, Bella Swan, which caused a bit of mischief.
During his time backstage, Facinelli made an unexpected discovery – a lifelike mannequin that resembled Stewart’s character, especially for a crucial scene. This stage prop, designed for a dramatic turning point in the film, was remarkably lifelike and unsettlingly accurate.
As a playful enthusiast, I joined in on the fun with Facinelli and Greene, casually poking at its authenticity by taking selfies and sharing laughter-filled jokes. However, our jovial moment was swiftly interrupted as security personnel intervened, and the producers requested we delete those photos to maintain secrecy and prevent any potential plot leaks.
According to People, Facinelli (51 years old) reminisced, “It was lifelike. We were backstage and they were filming on set, so we had to wait for their scene to finish. Suddenly, I accidentally hit a table, and there lay a full-sized figure of Kristen Stewart on it.
Later on, he explained that they created an effigy resembling her, when she suffered a broken neck… Is it still called a doll in such circumstances? Or perhaps a cadaver? Think of it as a mannequin, yet it bore a striking resemblance to her.
Facinelli explained, “Then we were all giggling, snapping selfies, and even playfully picking her ear and giving it a lick – we planned to surprise her with this later. However, security noticed our antics… which led to us getting into trouble.
Greene shared an amusing behind-the-scenes tale about the producers’ unsuccessful attempt to enforce a strict no-cell-phone policy during the remainder of the production. Similarly, Facinelli reminisced about a humorous incident involving Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) that occurred while filming the scene where Carlisle changes Edward into a vampire.
During the second attempt, Facinelli aimed to lighten the mood with a touch of humor, so he spontaneously remarked, “Rob, you’ve got quite the charm about you.” This comment caused Pattinson to give a small, amused smile.
Ashley Greene, Peter Facinelli, Kellan Lutz (from his role as Emmett Cullen), and Jackson Rathbone (who played Jasper Hale) recently appeared together on a MegaCon panel alongside other Twilight series veterans. They reminisced about their past experiences, over a decade since the release of Breaking Dawn – Part 2 in 2012.
