According to a recent report, former President Donald Trump is looking to increase his involvement in the entertainment industry, potentially through a deal involving Warner Bros. Discovery and Skydance/Paramount. This could include bringing back popular action movie series like Rush Hour.
I’m starting to wonder if this latest development might actually bring Ben Affleck back into the bat-suit, and even pave the way for a return to the world Zack Snyder created. It’s a long shot, but suddenly, it doesn’t feel quite as impossible as it did before.

Report: Trump Pressing for a Rush Hour Revival
According to Semafor.com, Donald Trump has been urging the owners of Paramount Pictures to make another Rush Hour movie, specifically with Brett Ratner directing a fourth installment.
I’m hearing from someone close to the talks that Trump has been giving his thoughts on some potential movie projects, and it turns out he’s really into those over-the-top action-comedies that were huge in the late 80s and 90s. Apparently, he’s a big Bloodsport fan, which, honestly, is a fun detail!
Harvey Ratner, once a prominent figure in Hollywood, faced accusations of sexual misconduct in 2017, which led to his departure from the industry. He’s been making a low-profile return, recently spending months documenting Melania Trump for an Amazon documentary reportedly sold for $40 million, according to Semafor.

Trump Wants Old-School Action Movies Back
The report indicates that Trump is interested in bringing back action movies reminiscent of classic buddy-cop films and stories with a strong, masculine focus.
Producer Dallas Sonnier predicts a surge in action movies featuring strong, traditionally masculine heroes—think bravery, confidence, and plenty of exciting action like explosions, gunfights, and car chases, as he told Semafor.
That description fits the style of Batman films directed by Tim Burton, Joel Schumacher, and Zack Snyder—they all feature a dark, intense tone and focus on heroic characters who are often uncompromising and driven by a strong sense of myth.

The Trump Batman Connection
Donald Trump has said that Ben Affleck is the best Batman in live-action movies. Affleck himself stated that Trump was excited he had taken on the role.
Trump even once said, “I am Batman.”
Given that Zack Snyder recently shared a new image of Henry Cavill as Superman on Veterans Day – and reports suggest the ‘SnyderVerse’ is being discussed again – the possibility of Donald Trump supporting a more intense version of Batman isn’t a surprising idea.
If Donald Trump aims to influence popular entertainment and revive the types of movies he believes Hollywood has left behind, Batman would be a perfect character to help him do so.
It’s worth considering: if Donald Trump has influence over pop culture decisions, would he approve of James Gunn directing a Batman movie? People at Warner Bros. are already concerned about Gunn’s approach to Batman, especially after his unconventional take on Superman and the DC Universe.

What This Means for the SnyderVerse
Nothing is confirmed. But it’s notable that:
- Trump likes Affleck’s Batman
- Snyder is again posting DC-related images
- Industry chatter says Ratner is getting opportunities
- Paramount and Comcast are battling for WBD, which controls DC
If studios favored by Trump start making action movies reminiscent of the 1990s, discussions about a Batman like the one Zack Snyder created – or even Ben Affleck reprising the role – could easily resurface.
With ongoing changes in leadership at Warner Bros. Discovery and studios adapting to new approaches, it remains to be seen whether Donald Trump’s increased involvement in popular culture will impact DC Comics’ most iconic character.
