Shortly after the 2026 Grammy Awards ended, Donald Trump publicly criticized the show on his social media platform, Truth Social, calling it almost unwatchable. He particularly targeted host Trevor Noah, labeling him a “loser” after Noah made several jokes at Trump’s expense. Trump was especially upset by a joke referencing Jeffrey Epstein, which he claimed was false and potentially libelous.
The issue started when Trevor Noah, while congratulating Billie Eilish on her Song of the Year Grammy, made a joke comparing the desire for an award to Donald Trump’s well-known interest in buying Greenland. Noah then playfully suggested that now that Jeffrey Epstein’s island is no longer available, Trump might be looking for a new place to visit, perhaps with Bill Clinton. Trump responded on social media, strongly denying he’d ever been to Epstein’s island and claiming Noah had made false and damaging statements that even major news outlets wouldn’t publish.
Trump hinted that his lawyers might take action against the comedian, suggesting a significant legal battle is coming. He criticized Noah’s performance as host, comparing it negatively to Jimmy Kimmel and calling CBS’s decision to stop using the show “garbage programming.” Surprisingly, Trump didn’t mention Bad Bunny’s historic win as the first Spanish-language artist to win Album of the Year.

It’s interesting that Donald Trump hasn’t commented on Bad Bunny, especially considering his past criticism of the singer. After Bad Bunny was announced as the Super Bowl halftime performer, Trump publicly stated he’d never heard of him and disapproved of the choice. Meanwhile, Bad Bunny, who recently won a major award just before his Super Bowl performance, has suggested he’s avoided U.S. tours partly because of worries about strict immigration policies.
Even as people continue to discuss his recent hosting gig, Trevor Noah is keeping busy. He surprised fans with a free stand-up special on YouTube, recorded in his home country of South Africa, as a New Year’s treat. Currently, he’s touring North America with his “Off The Record” show, and performances at famous locations like the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. have all sold out.
