The Trump administration is incorporating clips from Warner Bros. movies into its official communications. Most recently, they used footage from Matt Reeves’ film, The Batman, in a promotional video for the Department of Homeland Security.
I stumbled across a really strange post from a U.S. Border Patrol official, Commander Gregory K. Bovino. It showed footage of agents making arrests, but what made it bizarre was the music! They were using the theme from The Batman movie, a Nirvana song called “Something in the Way,” and it even sounded like they’d lifted some audio of Robert Pattinson speaking from the 2022 film. It was a seriously odd pairing of imagery and sound.
Footage from HBO’s 2008 John Adams miniseries of Paul Giamatti is also used in another promo.
Warner Bros. has not responded.

DHS Video Uses Pattinson’s Voice and The Batman Score
The DHS promo uses two of Pattinson’s signature lines from The Batman:
“Fear is a tool.”
“They think I’m hiding in the shadows, but I am the shadows.”
The voice sounds either exactly like Robert Pattinson’s from the movie, or it’s a remarkably accurate imitation. Regardless, everything about the audio – the overall feel, the sound effects, the music, and even the Nirvana song – strongly evokes the atmosphere of The Batman.
The video concludes with Commander Bovino striking a powerful pose in the darkness, a final image that reinforces the movie’s central ideas and highlights his role as the type of lone-wolf hero described by the narrator.

Trump Administration Is Already Intersecting With WB Content
It’s really striking to me that this is happening right when there’s so much talk about the Trump administration’s ties to the potential deal between Skydance, Paramount, and Warner Bros. Discovery. It just feels…connected, you know?
As we have reported and Variety backed up:
- David Ellison is aligned with the Trump White House
- Paramount leadership has shifted its content strategy toward middle-America, patriotic themes
- The Trump administration will approve the Ellison/Skydance takeover of Paramount
- A UFC event at the White House is being planned under the Paramount–UFC deal
The Department of Homeland Security is now featuring imagery from The Batman—a major film property owned by Warner Bros.—in its public communications. This is happening at the same time the administration is backing a deal for Skydance/Paramount to acquire Warner Bros.
That connection is impossible to ignore.
You know, it’s funny, this isn’t the first time Trump’s been linked to Batman! I remember reading about this years ago – apparently, a kid asked him straight up if he was Batman, and Trump didn’t even hesitate – he just said, “I am Batman!” It’s a pretty memorable moment, honestly.
The White House shared artwork depicting Donald Trump as Superman on the same day James Gunn’s Superman movie came out.
