Official trailer and plot of Tron: Ares
Tron: Ares centers on a high-stakes competition between two powerful tech companies, ENCOM and Dillinger Systems. They’re racing to create fully realized digital programs, and the key lies in cracking a complex issue – keeping these programs from decaying after just 29 minutes – using a special code created by Kevin Flynn.
Dillinger sends Ares, a powerful AI soldier, to steal valuable code. But Ares unexpectedly becomes self-aware and starts to wonder about his own existence. After ENCOM creates a functioning digital orange tree, Ares chooses to help humanity. This sparks a battle over whether Ares should be free and if the code should be used to create life, or exploited for destructive purposes.

Jared Leto plays the main character, Ares, a powerful artificial intelligence soldier, in Tron: Ares. The film also features Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, Gillian Anderson, Jeff Bridges, and a supporting cast of other talented actors.
Joachim Rønning directed the film, which features a screenplay by Jesse Wigutow, who developed the story with David DiGilio. It’s the third movie in the Tron franchise, continuing the story from the original Tron (1982) and Tron: Legacy (2010). The characters were originally created by Steven Lisberger and Bonnie MacBird.
Nine Inch Nails created the music for the film, and Jeff Cronenweth was in charge of the visuals. Tyler Nelson edited the film.
Tron: Ares first launched at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, but critics had a mixed response, and the movie didn’t do well in theaters.
