Back in 1982, the debut of TRON catapulted it to stardom among sci-fi films of its time, earning the status of a cult classic today. A follow-up, titled TRON: Legacy, emerged in 2010 and garnered mixed reactions, but this didn’t deter Disney from pushing forward with another sequel. The upcoming movie, TRON: Ares, will be the next chapter in the franchise and functions as a standalone sequel to its two predecessors – an update we have previously shared!

True to form, Disney delivered an exclusive sneak peek as they unveiled the initial teaser trailer for the forthcoming film starring Jared Leto during this year’s D23 gathering. The upcoming film features Jared Leto portraying Ares, the main character, and several other well-known figures are also part of the cast, although their roles have not been revealed yet. These individuals include Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardina, Gillian Anderson, Jesse Wigutow, and Jack Thorne. The screenplay for the movie was written by these two gentlemen, while it is directed by Joachim Rønning, who previously co-directed the most recent Pirates of the Caribbean film.

For any extra details, we can verify that we don’t have too much new information to disclose at this moment. The plot of the movie remains secret, but based on the teaser trailer and Leto’s performances, it seems like the series is heading towards a darker, action-packed trajectory.
