The text includes a photo of the pair performing together on stage in Las Vegas, where Yearwood has been residing since last May. Yearwood often appears with Brooks during his ongoing Garth Brooks/Plus One residency at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum in Las Vegas, which is set to continue through March 2025.
On Thursday, October 3, a makeup artist and hairstylist who had been working for singer Brooks for 15 years filed a lawsuit against him. The allegations include an incident in a Los Angeles hotel room during a work trip in 2019 where the singer is accused of rape. According to court documents obtained by entertainment news outlets, the accuser claims that the singer also made her discuss sexually explicit topics with him and intentionally exposed himself to her on numerous occasions. Furthermore, she alleges in her filing that he expressed a wish for a “threesome” involving herself and Yearwood.
For their part, Brooks has refuted the accusations levied against him. He disclosed that he had already submitted a complaint against his accuser before her own filing, stating that the allegations against him were simply part of an elaborate extortion plot she was executing. In a document filed on September 13 in Mississippi, Brooks stated that his former employee is attempting to blackmail him into authorizing checks worth millions. If he refused to cooperate, she threatened to falsely accuse him of assault, as she is well aware of the impact such allegations can have on public figures, given her understanding of the consequences that typically befall cases like these.
After his disclosure, the lawyers for the woman described Brooks’ lawsuit as a “proactive claim” and a “clear tactic to intimidate and suppress” their client.
In response to the ongoing court case between them, Brooks has counter-sued his accuser, revealing her true identity in his court documents. This move has drawn criticism from Roe’s lawyers, who have stated their intention to pursue severe and swift legal penalties against him.
