In her pursuit of Bram, Mira finds herself venturing into secluded areas of the city, eventually uncovering him employed within the adult entertainment sector. These encounters form the crux of Mira’s movie, crafting a multi-layered storyline that blends old wounds with current struggles, resulting in outcomes she didn’t anticipate.
In his own words, Director Ertanto chooses to tell his story against the backdrop of Bali’s distinctive cultural blend, seamlessly weaving its rich traditions with the swift pace of modernization that characterizes the island. He describes it as a “tangled web of fast-paced modernity and conservatism”, stating that his role as a director carries a sense of responsibility towards this matter of representation, which is continually intertwined with our pursuit for social justice.
