A fresh image from Toy Story 5 debuted in USA Today, giving fans a better view of Bonnie and her growing bond with Lilypad, the film’s new high-tech toy.
In the picture, Bonnie is absorbed in playing with a frog-shaped tablet while sitting on her bed. Woody and Buzz are watching her from across the room, staying mostly in the shadows.

Old-School Toys vs New Technology
According to USA Today, Pixar’s new movie features a showdown between classic toys Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) and Woody (Tom Hanks) and the latest technology.
As a huge fan of the series, I’ve been following the teasers closely, and the latest image really confirms what I suspected: Bonnie is totally captivated by this new toy, Lilypad. It’s not just a simple plaything; it’s like a tablet, a gaming system, and a little digital friend all in one. Honestly, it feels like Woody and Buzz are facing a challenge bigger than anything they’ve dealt with before – it’s a real game changer!

Lilypad Changes the Rules of Playtime
Greta Lee (known for her roles in Past Lives, The Morning Show, and TRON: Ares) voices Lilypad, a character who embodies the main challenge in the film: how toys can remain meaningful when everyone is using smart technology.
Bonnie is clearly enjoying her new life, but Woody and Buzz seem to be watching from the sidelines as they become less important to her. This scene perfectly captures the movie’s central question: is this the end of toys being loved and played with?
Returning Cast and Release Info
Tom Hanks and Tim Allen reprise their roles as Woody and Buzz Lightyear, respectively, and Joan Cusack returns as Jessie. Joining them is Conan O’Brien, who voices Smarty Pants, a new tech toy designed to help with toilet training, which was first shown at D23.
Directed by Andrew Stanton, Toy Story 5 opens exclusively in theaters on June 19, 2026.
