The latest *Toxic Avenger* movie features a character, Winston Gooze (played by Peter Dinklage), who’s initially burdened by medical debt before becoming a superhero. Unfortunately, this is a widespread issue in the United States. So, instead of typical promotion, the film’s distributor, Cineverse, partnered with the nonprofit Undue Medical Debt to eliminate $5 million in medical debt for families struggling to pay. They pledged to erase $1 million in debt for every $1 million the movie earned in theaters, and they surpassed that goal, ultimately relieving $10 million in debt.
What started as a goal to eliminate $5 million in medical debt actually grew to over $15 million, all thanks to the incredible support from fans of *The Toxic Avenger*! This generosity helped over 10,000 people get much-needed relief. But there’s still more work to do. While this initiative has helped many families, countless others still need assistance. We’re asking Toxie fans to continue their amazing support. Every donation makes a difference – just $10 can wipe out $1,000 in medical debt. Please click the link below to contribute if you’re able.
The new film *The Toxic Avenger* boasts the tagline: “In a world where greed runs rampant… justice is best served radioactive.” However, you don’t need superpowers to do what’s right in this story. Starring Peter Dinklage as the Toxic Avenger, along with Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, Jacob Tremblay, and Taylour Paige, the film is now available digitally and will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on October 28, 2025.
