As a dedicated fan who has been following Tower of God since its inception on Naver Webtoon back in 2010, I must admit that the anticipation for Season 2 is palpable. The first season, while enjoyable, left me yearning for more depth and backstory, especially concerning our protagonist Bam.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that after a four-year wait, Tower of God Season 2 has arrived! While I appreciate the work done by Telecom Animation Film on the first season, there was one aspect I hope they address differently in the sequel: The original pilot didn’t delve deeply into the backstories of numerous characters. Here’s to hoping that this time around, we’ll get a chance to know our favorite heroes better!
In this case, when the anime adaptation struggles with its pacing due to condensing 78 chapters into only 13 episodes, it inevitably leaves out significant details from the source webtoon created by S.I.U and published on Naver Webtoon since 2010.
As a dedicated lifestyle expert, I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming sequel from The Answer Studio. In this new chapter, I believe they will skillfully tackle and resolve some lingering plot points for a more fulfilling narrative experience. Particularly, I’m intrigued by the potential focus on the climactic finale, where an essential scene was unfortunately excised in the anime adaptation. This omission could significantly shape the events of the next season.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: In the webcomic, I find myself drawn into the FUG not by my own choice, but out of necessity when my friends are threatened by Han Sung Yu, a member of that very organization. A pivotal scene where my friends receive a ring as a gift from Han on the second floor is skipped in the anime adaptation. However, it’s later unveiled that this seemingly harmless ring contains a tracker and my friends will meet their demise unless I agree to join the FUG as a slayer.
In the thrilling conclusion of Tower of God Season 1, I was astonished when Hwaryun miraculously discovered me, following Rachel’s heart-wrenching act of pushing me from the tower’s edge. Incredibly, I managed to rise on my own, and with determination burning within me, I vowed to ascend this enigmatic tower to uncover why Rachel had deceived me. Conversely, in the original webtoon, I was left sprawled on the ground, a whirlwind of emotions clouding my mind.
In Part 2, Chapter 28, we learn that Bam has yet to reach a decision even four days after being shoved off. He resolves to rescue his captive comrades by scaling the tower and seeks additional power in doing so. However, it remains uncertain if FUG’s rings will factor into further threats against his friends.
In the upcoming season, Bam’s character growth will be pivotal, and we fervently hope that The Answer Studio avoids turning him into yet another typical shonen superhero. As Bam forges new relationships along his journey, we anticipate him evolving into a tougher individual by the time he reaches the tower’s summit. An intriguing dilemma arises as to how he will respond when he eventually meets Rachel.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that in the recently released episode, we’ve been introduced to Urek Mazino, setting the stage for the long-awaited confrontation between him and Bam. Although there have been discussions about the series’ progress regarding pacing and animation, I, along with many others, eagerly anticipate that this anticipated fight will more than compensate for any perceived shortcomings thus far. So, keep an eye out for further developments on Tower of God Season 2!
