The developers at Creative Assembly have adjusted the release timeline for the postponed Tides of Torment DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3, with an expected launch in late October 2025.
In the latest developer update, it was almost explicitly stated that the reason for the delay in releasing Dechala, the forthcoming Legendary Lord for Daemons of Slaanesh, is due to her undergoing a complete redesign at least once during the development process, necessitating a ground-up reconstruction.
Additionally, it was verified that each Legendary Lord in the expansion pack will feature narrative elements, encompassing quest battles, to address fan concerns about the absence of such content in Omens of Destruction.
It’s clear that the developers have given us hints about the upcoming content and updates for Tides of Torment, including changes for the High Elves. A unique Confederation system will be implemented for factions within Ulthuan. Moreover, Legendary Lords like Teclis will receive enhancements; specifically, Teclis will rise to his proper role as the most powerful mage in the game.
Sea-Lord Aislinn, the imminent Legendary Lord of the High Elves, will possess the ability to assault ports directly from the water without needing to disembark – a capability that fans are anticipating may also be granted to the Vampire Coast in future updates. He’ll be a versatile character wielding two swords and will act as an assertive protector of Ulthuan, patrolling the seas to obliterate dangers before they can even reach land.
He’s set to introduce numerous fresh additions to the High Elves’ team, including the Skycutter – a flying chariot pulled by eagles that can serve both as an archer and artillery unit. Additionally, there will be the Oceanids, a formidable type of infantry, and the Mist Mage, a new hero character. These additions will introduce a completely novel Lore of Magic, the Lore of Mist. This lore primarily focuses on support spells to enhance ranged units, provide stealth abilities, and summon Water Elementals.
The followers of Slaanesh, known as Dark Elves who adore the Lord of Excess, have been revealed as a fresh unit within the Daemons of Slaanesh roster. They will be offered in two variations – wielding dual swords and crossbows, thus introducing Slaanesh to ranged combat options for the first time.
Enthusiasts of Norsca can anticipate an improved Monster Hunt aspect that’s closely linked to various regions, featuring many monsters introduced to the game post-launch. The rewards from these triumphs will offer useful abilities during combat, adding a fun twist.
