Top 16 My Hero Academia Teachers Ranked! You Won’t Believe Who’s Number One

From a passionate anime enthusiast’s perspective: Just as the title hints, My Hero Academia follows my journey and that of other students striving to master our unique abilities – Quirks – to transform into true heroes. To achieve this goal, we enrolled in UA High School, renowned as the best hero school in the nation. Consequently, our education revolves around understanding what it takes to be a hero, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes us.

Absolutely, even though My Hero Academia mainly spotlights its student characters, it’s essential to acknowledge the remarkable work and commitment of the teachers. Most of the educators and staff we’ve encountered in My Hero Academia are associated with UA High School and have played a crucial role in shaping the students’ development. With that said, let’s delve into some exemplary teachers from My Hero Academia.

16. Lunch Rush

Despite not having a teaching role, Lunch Rush is indeed a valuable member of the UA staff. His primary responsibility lies in the school cafeteria, where he oversees meal preparations for the students on a daily basis. In times of crisis, like when UA transformed into a shelter, he played an essential part in catering to the food needs of both students and citizens alike.

Lunch Rush’s abilities and Quirk are not extensively understood, but it’s clear that he’s an extraordinary chef who can swiftly prepare a variety of meals. In fact, he once managed to cook a complete French banquet for ten thousand typhoon survivors single-handedly, demonstrating his remarkable speed in meal preparation. Moreover, his culinary skills aren’t just quick; they’re also mouthwatering, as evidenced by Uraraka Ochaco’s unwavering enthusiasm for the school’s food.

15. Thirteen

At UA High School, there’s a non-teaching staff member named Thirteen who serves as the school’s search and rescue specialist. Essentially, her role is to locate and save students and others during emergencies. Given the numerous crises that have occurred at the school since the story began, she has proven to be an indispensable team member.

Absolutely, though she doesn’t take on the role of a teacher herself, Thirteen aids educators by facilitating instruction on essential search and rescue techniques to students. Her unique ability enables her to absorb objects into her finger and annihilate them with the immense force of a black hole’s pull. Essentially, she is a formidable hero in her own right, but shines best when using her power to locate and save people.

14. Recovery Girl

As a follower, I can attest that among the UA High School staff, Recovery Girl appears to be the most veteran member. Though she doesn’t teach classes, her role is indispensable due to her extraordinary talent in healing people. You could say she serves as our in-house nurse, diligently looking after students’ wellbeing when they sustain injuries during bouts or training sessions.

At UA High School, Recovery Girl holds significant value due to her remarkable ability to swiftly mend any injury with a mere kiss. This is made possible by her transferring life energy, thereby facilitating healing for those who are wounded or hurt. During the time when Izuku Midoriya was learning to control One For All, which often left his body injured from his reckless use of its power, she proved to be invaluable.

13. Ms. Joke

Among all the teachers listed, it’s just Ms. Joke who doesn’t work at UA High School. She is recognized as a staff member at Ketsubutsu Academy High School. She first appeared when the various schools united for the Provisional Hero License storyline segment. During the annual event, she was the one who accompanied her students.

At some point, Ms. Joke developed a friendship with Shota Aizawa. Unlike Aizawa, Ms. Joke possesses a lively and humorous personality, which is reflected in her Quirk – the ability to make her adversaries laugh uncontrollably. Although this power might not be the strongest offensively, it can be quite useful for throwing off opponents’ strategies or creating unexpected distractions.

12. Gran Torino

As a devoted cinephile, I found myself deeply moved by the character of Gran Torino. Though he had hung up his teacher’s cap by the time we met him, his past as a member of the UA High School faculty was legendary. He was among those exceptional educators who nurtured and guided All Might on his journey to become the iconic hero we know today.

Gran Torino shared an unbreakable bond with Nana Shimura, the wise mentor of All Might and the former bearer of the One For All power. Their friendship was a beacon of strength and inspiration, a testament to their mutual respect and camaraderie.

Mr. Gran Torino is a cranky old fellow who prefers solitude over socializing, but he teaches Izuku Midoriya his unique “shoot style” movement and combat technique when he permits Deku to learn from him. His special ability lets him leap through surfaces with incredible accuracy and speed, making it useful for both travel and attacks. Formerly a hero, Gran Torino had to retire following an injury inflicted by Tomura Shigaraki that proved career-ending.

11. Power Loader

At UA High School, Power Loader may not be recognized as one of the top teachers in terms of student support, but he plays an indispensable role within the faculty and staff. His expertise lies in designing and maintaining costumes and equipment, which are tailored to enhance the unique abilities – or Quirks – of both students and teachers at the school.

The Power Loader’s Unique Feature is its steel fingertips, enabling it to excavate and gather materials efficiently. However, his greatest strength lies in designing and manufacturing costumes that empower students and heroes to perform optimally during battles. It’s essential to note that without him, the students and heroes would lack the necessary costumes and gear to achieve their full potential on the battlefield.

10. Cementoss

At UA High School, there’s a teacher named Cementoss who specializes in Modern Literature. Despite his block-like appearance that might seem amusing, don’t underestimate him because he possesses immense power. In fact, Cementoss can control cement, enabling him to shape it as he pleases. He has the ability to transform solidified cement into a liquid state and then harden it on command.

From my perspective as a movie reviewer, I must commend the character Cementoss in the UA series for his exceptional blend of offensive and defensive strategies. Few teachers can rival his prowess on either side of the battlefield. Recovery Girl herself acknowledged that confronting Cementoss and his Quirk is an incredibly challenging task.

This was evident during the Paranormal Liberation War arc, where his unique ability single-handedly altered the course of the ambush at the Paranormal Liberation Front’s base against the pro heroes. Simply put, Cementoss is a formidable force to be reckoned with!

9. Vlad King

Among the teachers at UA High School, Vlad King appears somewhat sinister and possesses abilities reminiscent of a villain. However, in every aspect, he is a genuine hero. He serves as the homeroom teacher for Class 1B, frequently found vying against Shota Aizawa’s Class 1A. Throughout the narrative, his demeanor remains cool and competitive, yet always exhibiting heroic qualities.

To put it simply, Vlad King is an influential hero due to his unique ability to control his own blood. Although this might seem a tad gruesome, it grants him the power to alter the course of battles by employing his abilities tactically, whether for offense or defense, in any given combat scenario.

8. Hound Dog

At UA High School, there’s a staff member named Hound Dog who isn’t typically thought of as a teacher. What might surprise you is that he serves as the school’s guidance counselor. This role could come as a shock because Hound Dog has a bold personality much like Katsuki Bakugo’s, which isn’t what one usually associates with a guidance counselor. Interestingly, he also assists in maintaining security at the school due to his Quirk.

In a more accessible way, Hound Dog possesses traits characteristic of both humans and dogs, giving him heightened senses beyond those of ordinary people. This extraordinary nose of his is particularly useful in maintaining security around the school, a task he performed during the School Festival storyline, where he could detect potential intruders.

7. Snipe

As a follower, I am one of the two recognized Heroics instructors tasked with educating students about the fundamentals of being a hero. Given my background as a capable hero myself – once hailed as the nation’s top marksman following Lady Nagant’s decline from grace – it only makes sense that I would be well-suited for this role. However, despite possessing extraordinary abilities, I chose to channel them towards teaching instead of continuing to use them as a hero in my own right.

Using his unique ability, Snipe can strike targets over a specific distance with remarkable precision. This talent allows him to wield firearms and other projectile weapons proficiently, regardless of the need for pinpoint accuracy in his shots. As such, he proves to be an efficient hero during long-range combat encounters, making him particularly valuable when instructing students on how to master their ranged attacks skillfully.

6. Midnight

Without a shadow of a doubt, Midnight stood out among all the teachers at UA High School, and the boys would unanimously concur. Her enchanting appearance and charisma were enough to draw anyone in simply by her presence. Yet, it was her unique ability that truly set her apart – as a teacher and a hero. With the power to put anyone to sleep, Midnight’s Quirk proved indispensable in apprehending villains and supporting fellow heroes.

In the narrative of UA High School’s Modern Hero Art History, Midnight was one of the teachers frequently featured. However, she displayed true heroism when she attempted to prevent Gigantomachia from reaching Tomura Shigaraki during the Paranormal Liberation War. Although her method of death wasn’t shown, it was assumed that she sustained severe injuries while trying to stop Gigantomachia and was ultimately killed by remnants of the Paranormal Liberation Front. Nevertheless, her last message to Class 1A inspired them to cooperate, which played a significant role in the ultimate victory against the colossal villain.

5. Present Mic

Some individuals might perceive Present Mic merely as a source of humor or an official storyline commentator. It’s reasonable why some might find it hard to consider him a serious figure due to this portrayal. However, beneath the comedic facade lies a formidable hero, capable of shaming many other heroes with his prowess and abilities. Indeed, he wouldn’t have been chosen as a teacher at the nation’s elite hero school if he didn’t possess a unique Quirk and the skills to substantiate his qualifications.

Mic’s Quirk, while seemingly beneficial for festivities and jubilations, proves to be exceptionally valuable throughout the storyline. In instances where he’s not in a playful mood, he can produce thunderous, destructive sounds. This ability was demonstrated during the Paranormal Liberation War arc when he employed it offensively, having discovered that one of his former classmates from UA High School had been transformed into a Nomu.

4. Principal Nezu

At UA High School, Principal Nezu stands out as the leading figure due to his role overseeing the entire school. Uniquely among animals, he possesses a Quirk that gives him characteristics similar to humans. Despite being an animal, his intelligence surpasses that of most ordinary humans, which has enabled him to attain the position of principal at UA High School.

Nezu might not possess exceptional combat skills, offensively or defensively, but his intelligence sets him apart, making him one of UA High School’s top faculty members. He oversees the strategic planning for the school’s security and defense systems, devising tactics to protect students and staff from potential threats by villains. Consequently, he is a crucial asset to the school staff and ranks among the most intelligent characters in the entire narrative.

3. Ectoplasm

Amongst the teachers on this list, Ectoplasm stands out to me in a unique way. Unlike some others, he’s not particularly chatty and has an intimidating presence that’s downright chilling. His appearance is so menacing, it seems like he stepped straight out of a villainous storyline. However, looks can be deceiving because Ectoplasm is, in truth, a real-life hero. Before the events we read about, he sacrificed his legs serving as a hero before transitioning to his role as a Math teacher at UA High School.

His supernatural ability enables him to generate ectoplasmic duplicates from his mouth. These replicas can serve offensively, defensively, and as support, making him a highly valuable asset at UA. Not only is he frequently cited as one of the top combatants in the storyline, but his adaptable power has proven useful in numerous scenarios.

2. All Might

In the world of My Hero Academia, some consider All Might as the foremost educator, and there’s a compelling argument to back this up. He is not just the Symbol of Peace but also the strongest and most valiant hero on Earth, until he stepped down due to exhausting the remnants of One For All within his body. However, even though he was the most powerful hero, it’s his character that truly sets him apart as an exceptional teacher.

In the narrative of My Hero Academia, no character has inspired more budding heroes than All Might. He consistently put in a great deal of effort as a hero not just to aid others, but also to motivate a new wave of heroes. This is why he chose to teach at UA High School, where he mentored his successor, Izuku Midoriya, and supported other young, ambitious students. Even though he lost his Quirk, All Might remains the most inspirational figure among all the teachers in My Hero Academia.

1. Eraser Head

Others might find Eraser Head or Shota Aizawa an unexpected pick for the best teacher in My Hero Academia, but it’s important to remember that he consistently puts in effort for the betterment of his students. His goal isn’t just to make a select few excel, but rather to help every student in Class 1A reach their full potential. Initially, he may come off as indifferent or uninterested in his role as homeroom teacher, but his unwavering presence through the highs and lows of the class speaks volumes about his commitment.

Using his unique talent known as Erasure, Eraser Head can nullify another individual’s special ability, provided he maintains eye contact with them. This power enables him to teach his pupils to develop and utilize their other skills rather than overrelying on their inherent abilities. In crucial battles, he stands out as a game-changer, having the power to counteract even the strongest villains such as Tomura Shigaraki, who targeted Aizawa during the Paranormal Liberation War storyline. Despite appearing indifferent, he demonstrated his deep concern for his students by pushing beyond his own limitations and even wounding his foot in order to keep fighting.
