The most renowned example of such a mutant is Colossus. Although we don’t fully understand the workings of this mutation yet, it can be thought of as human skin being covered with a pliable metal layer that boosts the mutated character’s durability and strength.

As a movie enthusiast, let me share my thoughts on the film’s standout character: Organic Steel. This material endows our mutant protagonist with an extraordinary resilience that leaves one in awe. From absorbing impacts caused by high-caliber bullets to surviving falls from towering heights, collisions with speeding vehicles, and even enduring colossal explosions, Organic Steel proves its indomitable strength.

It’s not just about brute force; it’s about adaptability. A non-superhuman character would crumble under such pressure, but our hero stands tall thanks to this remarkable material. It might seem indestructible when considering its strength against natural elements near Colossus, but it can still be damaged or destroyed by other types of metal. This means that in a battle with opponents wielding such stronger materials, Colossus can indeed be harmed and even defeated – as evidenced by instances where he’s been sliced open or had his limbs broken.

As a cinephile, I’ve often found myself marveling at the diverse array of fictional metals gracing our screens. However, there’s one character who, despite bleeding energy or blood (to avoid sounding too peculiar), seems to struggle against his peers – Organic Steel. It’s not that he’s without merit; it’s just that in comparison to other metals, his prowess appears somewhat diminished.

9. Galactic Glaze

Known as Galactic Glaze, this enigmatic metallic material shares a connection with the Silver Surfer’s surfboard and his physique. It seems to be the same matter used in constructing the former, while also serving as the coating for the latter. This strange substance hails from the cosmos and was brought into existence by Galactus himself.

Cosmic Veneer, composed of mysterious substances, was initially employed in crafting the board, but later used to conceal the emissaries of Galactus. This enigmatic substance is exceptionally robust, granting both the Herald and the Board immunity against all types of physical harm while also amplifying their power.

In my review, let me share some intriguing insights about the enigmatic Board from the Marvel universe. Although the specific substances Galactus employed to craft this artifact remain a mystery, what we do know is that he infused it with the Power Cosmic – an astonishingly potent cosmic energy. This cosmic power endows both the Board and its Heralds with extraordinary abilities, rendering them invincible against physical harm. Essentially, the Galactic Glaze transcends ordinary matter; it’s not so much a tangible object as it is a reservoir of immense cosmic energy – the Power Cosmic itself.

In terms of classification, Galactic Glaze might not strictly be considered a typical metal, instead, it could be viewed as an extraordinary blend or concoction of physical metals and pure energy. Despite its looks and common perception, we’ve included it among the most robust metals in the Marvel Universe. It surpasses Organic Steel in strength, but its power relative to other metals on this list is a topic of discussion.

8. Carbonadium

A made-up metal named Carbonadium was invented in the Soviet Union during the Cold War era. The Russians aimed to manufacture adamantium, but they couldn’t quite replicate the process, so they developed an alternative that was less expensive, which they called Carbonadium. Although Carbonadium doesn’t possess all the attributes of adamantium, it shares some similar properties and is significantly cheaper to produce.

Nowadays, genuine vibranium can only be found in Wakanda’s geographical area, with multiple forms of the primary element existing (as detailed below). Due to its remarkable properties, vibranium is incredibly precious and highly valued.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to highlight that the primary form of vibranium, my personal favorite, hails from the extraordinary African nation of Wakanda – the land where this extraordinary metal is extracted. This metal possesses an unparalleled ability to absorb, store, and discharge immense amounts of kinetic energy, making it invaluable in confrontations. However, it’s essential to remember that there are boundaries to the amount of energy it can take in.

This substance is versatile, as it can be combined with various other materials and metals. However, it poses a significant risk due to its explosive nature, capable of inflicting extensive damage. Moreover, it exhibits strong mutagenic properties, causing alterations in many Wakandan individuals who come into contact with it. Additionally, it has been observed to affect the local flora and fauna. It is also rumored to amplify mystical powers.

In my perspective as a movie reviewer, when discussing vibranium in the Marvel universe, we often refer to the common Wakandan vibranium. This is why it stands above adamantium on our list of impressive metals. However, I must clarify that there’s another form of vibranium called Anti-Metal, which will be explored in a subsequent section. Vibranium, as we know it, surpasses the strength of all other metals mentioned thus far, but the regular variant doesn’t seem to get any stronger than this remarkable metal.

6. Adamantium

The origin of the term “adamantium” is quite fascinating. Essentially, it’s a fictitious Latin word, derived from the real Latin root “adamans“, which comes from the original Greek “ἀδάμας” (meaning indomitable). The English noun and adjective “adamant” also contributed to its creation. This fictitious word has been extended with the neo-Latin suffix “-ium”, a common feature in the naming of chemical elements.

Adamantium is created by combining various elements, typically stored separately as resin blocks. These blocks are heated until they liquefy and blend, with the resin fully vaporizing in the process. You’ll only have approximately eight minutes to shape this molten alloy before it hardens.

This weaker version shares some characteristics of the genuine adamantium but can be shattered with sufficient power.

Previously, we established that “genuine” adamantium surpasses vibranium in strength. However, to clarify, there are actually two kinds of vibranium: one exceeds the strength of “true” adamantium, whereas the other is markedly weaker.

That’s why it has become such a formidable weapon in the wrong hands. Furthermore, this mysterious element possesses a potent mutagenic property, capable of altering life forms in ways we could scarcely imagine.

Vibranium exhibits peculiar behavior, generating vibrations that mysteriously weaken bonds in surrounding metallic substances, even strong alloys like adamantium, causing them to liquefy. Additionally, it produces defensive vibrations capable of warding off sound waves. This unique metal can also be manipulated to create portals to other dimensions when properly tuned with the right frequency.

In the Marvel fictional universe, Anti-Metal stands out as a unique and incredibly robust metal, often considered one of the strongest commonly found metals. It’s potent enough to pose a threat even to the toughest characters. Interestingly, it surpasses both Adamantium (true form) and Vibranium (regular form) in strength, yet its ability to melt Organic Steel or Galactic Glaze remains debatable. It undeniably boasts greater strength, but the manner in which that power would be displayed is intriguing.

As a movie buff who’s always dreamt of delving into the world of Wakanda, I can share that theoretically, we could turn Wakandan vibranium into Anti-Metal. It’s like taking a piece of Wakandan vibranium’s sacred mound and transforming it through a process called particle bombardment – essentially switching the isotope that sets Wakandan vibranium apart from Anti-Metal. However, this method is extremely risky; there’s a strong possibility it could trigger an explosion so powerful, it could wipe out a significant portion of our planet.

4. Adamantine

In simpler terms, Adamantine can be understood as a divine equivalent of adamantium, commonly known as the “Gods’ Metal.” This metal is golden in color and boasts several mystical attributes. For instance, it resists both psychic and magical forces, and it’s capable of deflecting powerful energy blasts.

In Ancient Greece, weapons, tools, and armor were frequently crafted using a material known as adamantine. This substance was incredibly durable and could withstand almost any type of assault, making it highly valued for its strength. Despite numerous attempts, the origins of adamantine remain a mystery. However, its remarkable properties have been extensively recorded.

Beyond its remarkable resistance to various physical assaults, immense power, and enigmatic characteristics, adamantine is virtually indestructible and almost impervious to any alterations, even at the molecular level (except when crafted correctly). In other words, it’s highly resistant, almost to the point of invincibility, against changes, including the Anti-Metal known for melting authentic adamantium.

In my perspective, this divine metal outclasses “true” adamantium in strength; lore has it that adamantium was an attempt at creating adamantine but only yielded a stronger, yet still inferior, version of the metal. Moreover, this metal is immune to Anti-Metal, thus necessitating its placement higher on our list.

3. The Unknown Metal of the Muramasa Blade

From a film enthusiast’s perspective, I must admit that the tale of Muramasa’s swords leaves me in awe. Contrary to what their legends claim, I remain uncertain about which metal he employed in forging these legendary blades. Yet, one thing is certain – they possess an unimaginable strength that continues to captivate the imagination.

In Japan, there resided an immortal madman named Muramasa, a renowned and feared blacksmith and swordsman. He was famed for crafting two extraordinary blades, each imbued with immense power. The first of these swords was ancient and boasted a range of mystical abilities on its own, as well as those it bestowed upon its bearers; it was often called the Black Sword. The second Muramasa sword was the one that Wolverine came to possess following his memory recall.

The precise method by which Muramasa crafted his two legendary swords remains a mystery, yet it is acknowledged that they held an extraordinary aspect: the spirit of their wielders was integral to their construction – initially Muramasa’s (first) and subsequently Wolverine’s (second). This unique process imbued the sword with additional abilities and traits, further enhancing its strength.

Despite some controversy about its toughness, there’s no denying that the Muramasa Blade has the capability, in theory, to cut through any material or metal. It surpasses all previous metals in strength and can even slice through metals once thought to be indestructible. Moreover, it is believed that the blade possesses a “plasmic form,” which would enable it to cut through substances at a molecular level.

2. Uru

Uru, often referred to as a celestial metal, is thought to have originated since the birth of the universe, hailing from the initial moon ever formed. This rare element is native to Nidavellir, one of the Nine Realms. Known for its immense power, it’s unsurprising that it was utilized in crafting Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir. Despite being a metal, Uru possesses a rugged, rock-like appearance. It also has the unique ability to absorb and retain energy and magic.

Uru exhibits exceptional durability and holds magical properties exceptionally well. This mysterious metal ore comes in two distinct forms: first, a gold-like luster reminiscent of Gungnir and Stormbreaker; second, an appearance resembling poorly crafted iron, as seen with Mjolnir. When Uru is imbued with magic, it gains even greater durability, though its ductility remains undetermined. Uru proves to be highly resistant to damage, yet no instances have been recorded of it being drawn into wire. What is known, however, is that the more magical energy it possesses, the stronger it becomes.

Uru is a tough metal that doesn’t spark and is extremely hard to shape, usually requiring extraordinary techniques like those found in a star’s core or an enchanted forge. Despite the challenges in crafting it, objects fashioned from this material, especially those imbued with magic, are exceptionally durable and can withstand various types of harm, contributing to their strength.

Tony Stark found that Uru has a strong inherent connection to magic, and this bond with its user is reciprocal, influencing each other mutually.

1. Proto-Adamantium

In the Marvel comic book world, Proto-Adamantium is recognized as the strongest metal. However, even though it’s the strongest, the composition of Captain America’s shield remains an enigma within the Marvel storyline.

It’s understood that proto-adamantium is essentially a combination of regular adamantium and Wakandan vibranium, which, theoretically, shouldn’t interact harmoniously due to their contrasting properties. It’s speculated that there’s an unidentified catalyst or unique factor in the blend that triggered a chemical-molecular reaction between the two elements. This reaction is believed to have transformed the iron alloy into proto-adamantium and, simultaneously, caused the vibranium to bond together.
