Tomb Raider Cast Revealed: Sophie Turner, Sigourney Weaver, and Jason Isaacs Lead Amazon Series

Amazon has announced the complete cast list for its new live-action Tomb Raider series. Sophie Turner will star as Lara Croft, and Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs will also play significant roles.

Weaver and Isaacs Join the Adventure

Jason Isaacs will star as Atlas DeMornay, a character fans will recognize from the Tomb Raider stories. Sigourney Weaver will play Evelyn Wallis, a secretive and ambitious woman who wants to take advantage of Lara’s skills.

Sophie Turner will lead the cast in an action-packed adventure inspired by the famous Tomb Raider video game series. The story will take place in locations around the world.

Expanded Cast and Fan-Favorite Characters

The cast also features Martin Bobb-Semple as Zip and Bill Paterson as Winston, both well-known actors from previous installments in the series.

I was really excited to see Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, and Celia Imrie pop up as characters we know and love from the Tomb Raider world! It was a fun nod to the games and really helped flesh out that universe on screen.

Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, and August Wittgenstein will also star in the production.

Waller-Bridge on the Series

According to showrunner Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the Tomb Raider series is known for its memorable characters. She’s excited to have featured both beloved characters from the games and some new, fun additions in the show. She believes the cast is exceptional.

Behind the Scenes

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is the creative force behind the series – she wrote it, created it, and is an executive producer, sharing showrunning duties with Chad Hodge. Jonathan Van Tulleken directs and also executive produces. The series is a joint production involving Amazon MGM Studios, Crystal Dynamics, Legendary Television, Wells Street Films, and Story Kitchen.

Production on the new live-action Tomb Raider series is starting this month. This version promises a new take on the classic Lara Croft story, coming soon after Netflix finished airing the second and last season of its animated Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, which featured Hayley Atwell as the voice of Lara Croft.

Two video games were also recently announced including Legacy of Atlantis and Catalyst.
