It’s possible that the live-action Tomb Raider series on Amazon is still moving forward, given that photos have emerged showing Sophie Turner looking exceptionally fit and muscular, potentially indicating she could play Lara Croft convincingly.

Tomb Raider reportedly canceled

It appears that two separate sources have indicated that the continuation of the “Tomb Raider” series, previously in development under Phoebe Waller-Bridge, is not moving forward as planned.

Despite reports indicating that Jennifer Salke was let go as head of Amazon Studios, speculation emerged that the Phoebe Waller-Bridge-led Tomb Raider series has been cancelled.

Well, maybe it’s not.

Sophie Turner jacked

According to reports, Sophie Turner has been chosen to portray Lara Croft in the main role. The actress, famous for her role as Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones, was recently seen enjoying a friend’s bachelorette party.

It’s unclear whether she transformed into superb physical condition specifically for the Tomb Raider game, for a different role, or just because she desired to, but the buzz suggests that the Tomb Raider project is indeed underway.

Sophie Turner’s other projects

According to her IMDb, the Tomb Raider series is actually in production.

Apart from “Game of Thrones,” Sophie Turner is rumored to be working on two additional upcoming projects. One of them, titled “The Dreadful, is currently in production. This project follows the life of Turner’s character Anne and her mother-in-law Morwen, who live a secluded, tough existence on society’s fringe. However, when a man from their past reappears, he triggers a chain of events that prove to be a pivotal moment for Anne. Kit Harington is also part of the cast in this production.

Turner is also reportedly working on the pre-production phase of the science fiction film titled “Cloud One”. This movie tells the story of a man who awakens with amnesia, finding himself in a virtual reality rehabilitation center. In this setting, he develops feelings for a digital woman, causing confusion as the boundaries between reality and simulation become increasingly blurred. As intricate relationships take shape across both worlds, the plot promises to keep audiences guessing. The film will feature Boyd Holbrook in one of its roles.

Previous information about the Tomb Raider series reveals that Phoebe Waller-Bridge, known for Indiana Jones 5: The Dial of Destiny, is responsible for scriptwriting and serves as a producer in an executive role.
