Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day Gets Its Title From THIS Popular Marvel Storyline; All You Need to Know About It

A Fresh Start” will commence this summer. The title seems to be inspired by a well-known yet controversial story arc within the Marvel Comics universe.

Previous films in this series have had “Home” in their titles. But the latest title draws inspiration from a 2008 storyline where Peter Parker struck a deal with Mephisto to save Aunt May. This arrangement resulted in his marriage to MJ being undone, significantly changing his personal timeline. Known as “One More Day,” this story was met with controversy because the world ended up forgetting Spider-Man’s real identity.

Choosing a title inspired by this specific storyline was mainly because the ending of the last Spider-Man movie shares a similarity with it.

To preserve the world, Doctor Strange manipulates everyone’s memories so they no longer recall Peter Parker or Spider-Man. As for the next movie, viewers can expect Tom Holland’s character to exert considerable effort in reminding people about himself – even going as far as MJ and the Avengers.

During the title unveiling event, Tom Holland, the star of Uncharted, who couldn’t make it in person, reached out to fans via a recorded message. In this video, he revealed that the upcoming film would mark a new beginning for his character.

Holland expressed his apologies for not being able to join because he’s currently overseas filming a movie. He mentioned that since they left things unresolved at the end of “No Way Home,” “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” serves as a new beginning, and that’s all he can share about it for now.

Earlier findings suggest that the Avengers movie due next won’t feature Spider-Man as a character, namely, Spider-Man will be absent from Doomsday.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
