Tom Holland Set to Star in an Adaptation of John Grisham’s ‘The Partner’

It’s been announced that Tom Holland will both star in and produce a film called “The Partner”. This drama is adapted from John Grisham’s 1997 bestselling novel of the same name. According to Deadline, the script is being written by Graham Moore, who’s famous for his work on “The Imitation Game”, and Universal is supporting this project.

John Grisham’s novels have a knack for becoming major successes for both actors and filmmakers. In the past, they’ve propelled actors such as Matthew McConaughey, Sandra Bullock, and Denzel Washington to greater stardom with movies like “A Time To Kill,” “The Firm,” and “The Pelican Brief.” These screen adaptations became essential viewing, combining top-tier talent with captivating legal thrillers.

Following a hiatus from acting due to the intense role in “The Crowded Room“, Holland is swiftly filling his calendar once more. He’s not only taking on the lead role in “The Partner” but also starring in Universal’s highly anticipated project, “The Odyssey“. This production boasts an impressive lineup of stars including Zendaya, Matt Damon, and Anne Hathaway.

Additionally, Holland is preparing for his fourth Spider-Man movie and is expected to feature in future Avengers films as well.

In “The Partner,” Holland takes on the character of Patrick Lanigan, a lawyer who pulls off a daring deception by pretending to die and pilfering $90 million from a corrupt law firm. After establishing a fresh identity in South America, Lanigan’s previous life comes knocking, compelling him to come back and deal with the repercussions.

Initially, “The Partner” was intended as a sequel to “The Blind Side,” directed by John Lee Hancock, but development halted. However, with Holland’s fresh production company, Billy17, teaming up with Rideback, the project has been revived and is moving forward again.
