Things are getting a little scary here! First, Henry Cavill got hurt filming the new *Highlander* movie, pushing everything back to 2026. Now, I just heard that Tom Holland was hospitalized after an accident on the *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* set. They say bad luck comes in threes, so I’m really hoping all the other leading men in action films are being extra careful with their stunts today! Thankfully, while Tom’s injury *will* delay production on *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, it doesn’t sound like it’s going to push the release into next year. Here’s what I’ve learned about what happened to Tom on set.
Tom Holland was briefly hospitalized after suffering a mild concussion while filming the new Spider-Man movie, *Brand New Day*, in Glasgow. According to *Deadline*, filming was paused on Friday so he could receive treatment. While he’s taking a short break to recover, sources say he’s expected to return to set soon.
We appreciate practical effects, but they definitely carry risks. Tom Holland has been willing to do his own stunts ever since his audition for *Captain America: Civil War*, where he unexpectedly performed a backflip. Even with thorough training, injuries can still occur, even to experienced actors. However, we’re confident Holland will recover quickly and be back to performing *Spider-Man* action scenes soon.
Tom Holland recently discussed filming the new *Spider-Man* movie, explaining they’re aiming for a classic filmmaking style by shooting on location. They’ve already started filming in Glasgow, using the city’s streets as the backdrop for a major scene. He says it will feel similar to making the first *Spider-Man* movie in 2017, and feels like a refreshing change. Holland believes fans will be very excited about what they’re creating.
The upcoming movie, *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, will show Peter Parker dealing with the aftermath of everyone forgetting who he is. According to early reports, Peter will try to focus on college and retire as Spider-Man, but he’ll be forced to return when a new danger threatens his friends. He’ll have to team up with a surprising new partner to protect them. The film is set between the events of *Avengers: Doomsday* and *Avengers: Secret Wars*.
Even though the Spider-Man comics have moved on, we’re concerned about Tom Holland’s well-being after his on-set injury. We hope he has a speedy recovery and that filming can safely continue soon.
