Tom Hiddleston Stars in Chilling Stephen King Adaptation

Tom Hiddleston, Mark Hamill, Mike Flanagan, and Stephen King. Selling this project would be one of the simplest tasks in movie history given these big names attached to it.

Renowned horror masters, Mike Flanagan and Stephen King, are teaming up. Flanagan is set to direct, script, and produce a movie based on King’s novella “The Life of Chuck.” You can watch the initial teaser for it right here.

In 2020, the author released this work in his collection titled “If It Bleeds.” On his official website, “The Life of Chuck” is characterized as three distinct stories that are interconnected to narrate the biography of Charles Krantz, starting with his death from a brain tumor at age 39 and concluding with his childhood experiences in what is believed to be a haunted house.

Tom Hiddleston‘s character, Loki, will portray Chuck who meets his demise, with Hamill taking on the role of Albie in this upcoming project. This is yet another collaboration between the renowned Star Wars figure and the director. In addition, Hamill is also featured in Flanagan’s Netflix film, The House of Usher. Alongside Hiddleston and Hamill in the cast for Flanagan’s Stephen King adaptation are Matthew Lillard, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Jacob Tremblay, and others.

The horror element in this film might not be as intense as you’d expect. According to Deadline, the movie will take a similar emotional and tonal approach as previous Stephen King adaptations like Stand By Me, The Shawshank Redemption, and The Green Mile.

It’s absolutely acceptable! The fact that Mike Flanagan directs Tom Hiddleston and Mark Hamill in a Stephen King adaptation, which evokes feelings similar to those stirred by ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, makes for an enticing pitch that would have us eager to join the project without the elevator even needing to move.
