Tom Hanks has playfully revealed his involvement in Toy Story 5 as a voice actor, suggesting that work on the upcoming 2026 sequel is already progressing. On April 22nd, the actor from A Man Called Otto announced on Instagram that he had begun working on a Pixar movie. In his post, he shared a photo of himself in a voiceover booth and wrote, “First day at work on Project Number 5! Any guesses? Hint: Disney, Studio B.
68-year-old Hanks provides the voice for Woody, while 71-year-old Tim Allen voices Buzz Lightyear. In 1995, Walt Disney Studios debuted the timeless, humorous animated adventure comedy film that was a classic of its generation. It also showcased the vocal talents of Annie Potts (famous for her role in “Pretty in Pink”), Don Rickles (recognizable from “Casino”), John Ratzenberger (“Cheers” star), Jim Varney, known for his Ernest P. Worrell character, and Wallace Shawn (“Clueless” actor).
Although specific details about the fifth installment are still confidential, some information was shared at the D23 Expo in August 2024.
