Tokyo Drift Star Zachery Ty Bryan Arrested Again Within Period Of 12 Months; Details Inside

As a long-time fan who grew up watching Zachery Ty Bryan‘s charming portrayal of Brad Taylor in Home Improvement, I can’t help but feel a mix of disappointment and concern about his recent legal troubles. The actor’s life seems to have taken a dramatic turn from the wholesome family sitcom to a series of arrests over the past few years.

His latest arrest on New Year’s Day for second-degree domestic violence is particularly troubling, as it marks the third time within just 12 months that he has found himself in legal trouble. It’s almost like Brad Taylor grew up and forgot about Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor’s lessons about respect and responsibility.

Despite his impressive resume, which includes roles in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Hammer of the Gods, it seems that off-screen, Bryan struggles to keep things under control. His repeated arrests for driving under the influence, driving without a valid license, and multiple domestic violence charges paint a concerning picture.

I remember Zachery Ty Bryan talking about his 2020 arrest in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where he claimed that they “didn’t even really get that physical.” But the thin walls of a townhome don’t lie, and neither do the sheriff’s office records.

I can’t help but wonder if Brad Taylor would be proud of the man he grew up to become. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how things unfold from here. On a lighter note, maybe one day we’ll see him reprising his role in Home Improvement, only this time as a guest on Tool Time who comes seeking Tim Taylor’s advice on how to stay out of trouble!

It’s been reported that Zachery Ty Bryan, known for his captivating performance on Home Improvement, has been arrested again. In the past year alone, this marks the third instance where legal issues have arisen for the actor.

According to Entertainment Weekly’s report, the actor, who starred in films like The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Hammer of the Gods, where he portrayed the demigod Thor, was taken into custody on New Year’s Day, 2025. He was accused of a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence, as confirmed by authorities.

It’s stated that Zachery Ty Bryan was taken into custody in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. According to the sheriff’s office records, he was admitted into the Horry County jail the following day. The bail for his release was reportedly set at $10,000.

Prior to October, Ty Bryan faced charges for driving under the influence and operating without a valid driver’s license. Earlier in February 2024, he was arrested on similar DUI-related charges along with a misdemeanor for contempt of court.

In addition, it’s important to note that Zachery Ty Bryan has previously been arrested on allegations of domestic violence. Specifically, in July 2023, he was detained and charged with felony assault, third-degree robbery, and simple assault.

Last year, Ty Bryan admitted guilt for a fourth-degree assault charge. Consequently, he spent a week behind bars and was placed on three years of supervised probation, according to PEOPLE’s report.

In October 2020, he was taken into custody for a felony accusation of choking someone, as well as lesser offenses involving assault and preventing the filing of a police report.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2023 regarding his 2020 arrest, Zachery Ty Bryan explained, “It wasn’t overly physical between us,” but admitted, “We became very loud. We were shouting and our townhome had thin walls, so everyone could hear us.

In a court of law, the actor known for “Held for Ransom” admitted guilt to charges of menacing and fourth-degree assault, which are classified as acts of domestic violence, after being arrested in 2020.
