As a lifelong fan of both comic books and Lady Gaga, I must confess that my expectations for ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ were sky-high. Having grown up reading Todd McFarlane’s iconic Spawn comics, I was intrigued by the prospect of him getting his hands on a DC film.
The sequel to ‘Joker’, titled ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’, received unfavorable feedback from both critics and viewers. It currently holds a 32% positive rating, which is considered “rotten”.
Additionally, it was given the lowest grade, a “D”, by CinemaScore – a first for any superhero movie, even though labeling ‘Joker 2’ as a superhero film could be pushing the boundaries.

Todd McFarlane found the movie intriguing. He had a conversation with Scott Silver, one of the writers, during lunch. Scott asked if he had seen the movie, to which Todd replied that he hadn’t but should. So, Todd and his wife went to watch it. Todd enjoyed the movie more than his wife did.
I can understand some of the criticism as I watched it, but just from filmmaking and acting and whatever else, there were parts of it that I was just going, “Wow, wow, wow.” Interestingly, I got to the point where I go, “Oh, I see.” And with my ego – I’m going to put my ego out there – I go, “Give me all the film, put me in a room for three days, and let me edit it.” I think there’s a hybrid in there that would work for what it was.
As a passionate admirer, I must admit my personal bias comes into play when discussing what I experienced. Immersed in the madness of that music, I found myself yearning for even more chaos. However, this is simply my perspective; others may have had differing reactions. Regardless, it’s undeniable that such a performance stirs strong opinions among its viewers.
