At the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2018, The Elder Scrolls VI was initially unveiled through a cinematic trailer. This upcoming game is being developed by Todd Howard and his team at Bethesda Game Studios as a title for next-generation platforms.

For nearly seven years now, no formal updates beyond the initial trailer have been shared with us, even though enthusiasts haven’t hesitated to inquire about it repeatedly.

Recently, a Reddit user noted an interesting fact: the gap since the announcement of The Elder Scrolls VI has been more extensive than the timeframe between the launch of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and the unveiling of The Elder Scrolls VI. The Long Wait For The Elder Scrolls VI Continues

Previously, Todd Howard himself expressed some doubt about whether it was wise to announce The Elder Scrolls VI as early as they did.

In relation to the Activision Blizzard acquisition lawsuit, a Microsoft file disclosed that The Elder Scrolls VI was intended to bypass the PlayStation 5 and instead debut exclusively on PC and Xbox platforms at some point beyond 2026.

Given Microsoft’s current strategy changes, there’s a strong likelihood that The Elder Scrolls VI may debut on the PlayStation 5 eventually, potentially even sharing the same release date.

Regardless, it’s likely that The Elder Scrolls VI will take several years to complete, given the extensive development work involved. Fans might need to exercise some patience and hope that the project comes to fruition before the current console generation ends.
