After the hit animated movie ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem,’ Paramount Pictures plans to breathe life into the famous series with a fresh live-action take. Unlike previous adaptations, this new project aims for a grittier, more adult-oriented narrative, delving into an R-rated storyline’s complexities.
Reports say that a live-action movie titled ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin’ is being worked on in the studio. This film is inspired by the widely loved IDW comic book series and will have a script penned by Tyler Burton Smith, famous for his upcoming R-rated action flick ‘Boy Kills World’ and the 2019 remake of ‘Child’s Play’.
Walter Hamada, who previously led DC Films, is overseeing the film’s production via his production house, 18hz Productions. Given his background in the horror genre, having contributed to successful projects such as ‘The Conjuring’ and ‘It,’ he brings a wealth of experience to this project.
