Timothée Chalamet is a prominent actor, but he’s reportedly very private about his relationship with Kylie Jenner. While they’ve shown affection publicly at events like the BAFTAs and Golden Globes, sources say he has no plans to appear on the family’s reality show, The Kardashians.
According to RadarOnline, Chalamet is committed to Jenner but doesn’t want to be part of her life as a reality TV star. They’ve been dating for about three years, and he’s even mentioned her in his award acceptance speeches.
However, when it’s time to film the show, Chalamet stays away. An insider claims he’s firmly against reality TV, reportedly believing it’s beneath him. This has allegedly created some tension, as he’s asked Jenner’s family, including her sisters and mother Kris Jenner, to respect their privacy.
Sources say Timothée Chalamet is hesitant to fully commit to his relationship with Kylie Jenner, reportedly because he’s worried about the negative attention often given to those who date into the Kardashian family – a phenomenon known online as the “Kardashian curse.” He’s allegedly concerned about being overwhelmed by their intense media presence and has observed how others have been affected by that level of fame.
Because of this, the relationship is said to be progressing at his pace, with him keeping his distance from the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner family. Meanwhile, Jenner’s family is reportedly wary of Chalamet’s motives, with some believing he’s using her for publicity.
One source claims Chalamet only seems interested in spending time with Jenner when he has a movie to promote, pointing to their public appearances during awards season as evidence. The insider also alleges that Jenner frequently has to plead for his time, and even when they do go out, he prefers private dates away from her family and any cameras.
Some people question Timothée Chalamet’s claims of wanting privacy, suggesting his actions are carefully planned. Sources say he’s willing to use his relationship with Kris Jenner for publicity when it benefits him, pointing to coordinated outfits and public displays of affection as deliberate choices.
He’s reportedly open to advice from Jenner about his Oscar campaign but doesn’t want to be involved in the family’s reality TV world. Chalamet has been very busy professionally since the late 2025 release of Marty Supreme, where he played table tennis legend Marty Reisman. The film, directed by Josh Safdie and also starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler, the Creator, and Fran Drescher, earned him a Golden Globe and a BAFTA nomination.
He’s now preparing for the December 18 release of Dune: Part Three, reprising his role as Paul Atreides alongside Zendaya and Florence Pugh. Beyond that, he’s starring in the Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, which follows Dylan’s career after a year of awards.
Chalamet is also expanding into producing, having worked on Marty Supreme and other independent films. Despite his rising career and potential Oscar nominations, he seems intent on keeping his personal life with Jenner separate from the world of reality television.
