Timothée Chalamet Tries to Cover Viral Look-Alike Contest Fine, Organizer Anthony Po Politely Declines: ‘Truly Funny’

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that Timothée Chalamet‘s gracious gesture to pay off Anthony Po’s fine for the viral look-alike contest was nothing short of heartwarming and inspiring. It’s not every day that we come across celebrities who are willing to extend a helping hand, especially when they themselves weren’t directly involved in the situation.

In October, YouTube personality Anthony Po organized a viral look-alike contest that attracted numerous individuals resembling Timothée Chalamet. Thousands of these doppelgängers gathered in downtown Manhattan for the event. To everyone’s astonishment, Timothée Chalamet himself showed up and agreed to cover the fine associated with the competition.

The incredibly popular 50 USD prize contest, featuring doppelgangers of Harry Styles, Glen Powell, Paul Mescal, and BTS’s Jeon Jungkook, was an enormous success. It ignited similar events globally, creating excitement as fans celebrated these likenesses. Ever since, online enthusiasts have been buzzing non-stop about it.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that people shared that the initial competition sparked civil disturbances, leading to a fine of $500 for organizer Po. Charmed by the spectacle, Timothée Chalamet reached out to Po, expressing his intention to cover the fine.

Po declined the proposal, explaining later that the event fee was previously taken care of by the Partiful app, which sent out the digital invitations for the occasion called Partiful.

Po shared that his ticket had been generously covered by Chalamet’s team, finding it quite amusing. He was elated by the flattering comments from the crew, whom he referred to the competition as ‘spectacular’.

Po explained that the event was initially thought up as a playful spectacle meant to spark happiness and intrigue within the city. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, he disclosed the inspiration for organizing this contest: “People often tease me, saying I resemble Chalamet. They call me ‘Less charismatic Timothée Chalamet.’ So, we decided to hold a doppelgänger competition. At first, our intention was for me to participate and manipulate the results, but as it gained momentum, we realized that it had grown beyond just me. Consequently, we wanted it to be a fun, heartwarming event for everyone in the city.

At the event, the unforeseen arrival of the Dune actor occurred, but due to the commotion, Miles Mitchell, aged 21, and I didn’t get a chance to interact with him as he was there. Interestingly, Miles emerged victorious in the competition, while Zander Dueve came in second place.
