Timothée Chalamet spent over six years training in ping pong to get ready for a role. He shared that the training quietly became a consistent part of his life, even while he was filming other projects.
He explained that while filming, he’d set up temporary workspaces in various locations. While making *Wonka*, he had a table in London. For *Dune 2*, he worked from Budapest and Jordan, and after *The French Dispatch*, he rented an Airbnb near Saint-Tropez with a view of the water where he was taking lessons.
Timothée Chalamet began preparing for the role with director Josh Safdie in 2018. He continued to practice ping pong even while filming large movies like *Wonka* and *Dune: Part Two*, demonstrating his commitment to making his portrayal believable.
With Safdie’s skillful directing, Timothée Chalamet’s dedicated performance, and a strong ensemble cast, audiences are eagerly anticipating *Marty Supreme*. The film explores themes of ambition and perseverance, all set within the unique and fast-paced world of competitive ping pong.
