Timothée Chalamet arrived in Paris this week to a wildly enthusiastic reception for the premiere of his latest film, Marty Supreme. Dressed in a stylish brown Givenchy suit and sunglasses, he greeted a massive crowd at the iconic Le Grand Rex theater. Amidst the excitement, Chalamet also acknowledged the financial effort it took for his fans to attend.
He lightheartedly pointed out that the theater was charging up to €50 for certain seats. He assured the audience they were paying a high price, but emphasized it wasn’t due to him. He even joked about not receiving any of the extra money and wished the event could have been free for all attendees.
Timothée Chalamet, who was also a producer on the film, made an effort to speak French throughout the evening as a sign of respect for the local culture. He highlighted France’s strong appreciation for cinema and expressed his genuine fondness for French moviegoers. He described his film, Marty Supreme, as a special project and was thrilled to share it with an audience that values art so deeply.
Film director Josh Safdie shared his strong belief in the actor’s talent. He explained that he first met Chalamet years ago and immediately recognized his ambition and self-awareness. Safdie described Chalamet as someone who was thoughtful and driven, even then, and felt destined for greatness. He believed the role was perfectly suited for Chalamet and was, in fact, written with him in mind.
Timothée Chalamet is having a career-best year. He’s already received a Golden Globe for his role in Marty Supreme and has been nominated for an Oscar. The film is a major success for A24 and is predicted to be their highest-earning movie ever in North America.
Okay, so I’m hearing whispers about this new movie my favorite actor is supposedly doing with James Mangold – it’s called ‘High Side’ and he’ll be playing a motocross racer! Seriously, between all the awards buzz he’s been getting and consistently crushing it with these huge blockbusters, I think it’s safe to say he’s the leading man of his generation. And get this – he even opened a pop-up shop in Paris this week for his fans to snag exclusive merch! It’s awesome to see him connecting with people like that.
