According to lip reader Nicola Hickling, Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet seemed to have a slightly awkward exchange at the 2026 Oscars. They sat next to each other at the Dolby Theatre on March 15th, but didn’t take any photos together on the red carpet. Timothée was up for Best Actor for his performance in Marty Supreme, and Kylie was there to support her partner.
A video from Entertainment Tonight shows Timothée playfully making a finger-gun gesture towards someone out of view, then turning to Kylie Jenner. According to a witness, he quickly whispered something to Kylie’s sister, Pauline, and then spoke to Kylie. Kylie reportedly rolled her eyes and told him, “Now you’re being a child, so shut up.”

I remember first noticing Timothée and Kylie together back in January 2023 at a Jean Paul Gaultier show in Paris – it definitely got people talking! But things really seemed to heat up when they were spotted at Beyoncé’s Renaissance concert in LA later that year. They’ve been pretty official since then, even making their red carpet debut at the David Di Donatello Awards in Rome in May 2025. It’s been sweet to see Kylie so supportive of Timothée throughout award season, always there cheering him on.
Throughout this year’s awards season, Timothée Chalamet publicly thanked Kylie during his acceptance speeches at events like the Golden Globes and the Critics’ Choice Awards. At the Golden Globes in January, he expressed his love for his parents and partner. Later, at the Critics’ Choice Awards, he specifically thanked his partner of three years, saying he couldn’t do it without her. Cameras caught Kylie responding with an “I love you.”
At the Oscars, Kylie Jenner stunned in a striking red sequined gown by Schiaparelli, featuring a unique keyhole detail, and accessorized with a diamond necklace from Lorraine Schwartz. Timothée Chalamet looked sharp in a classic white Givenchy tuxedo, completing his look with black sunglasses, several rings, and a watch by Urban Jürgensen.
Even though there was a slightly uncomfortable moment at the event, the couple has consistently demonstrated a close and loving relationship in public over the last three years.
