Kevin’s unexpected adventure
In the opening episode named “Kevin Haddock,” we’re introduced to Kevin on his eleventh birthday. An avid history enthusiast, he often feels like an outsider among those uninterested in the past. However, the ordinary turns extraordinary when a Viking suddenly materializes in his bedroom. This is just the start of an exciting journey for Kevin.
The first encounter with the Time Bandits
Kevin, believing it to be a dream, excitedly tags along with the Vikings. To his surprise, he finds himself having stepped through time. That very night, Kevin encounters the Time Bandits – Penelope, Alto, Widgit, Bittelig, and Judy. They reveal that Kevin’s room serves as a perilous yet thrilling gateway to various eras.
The unusual gang of misfits are now fugitives, hiding from their formidable boss, the Supreme Being, after making off with a priceless artifact called a time map. Initially, Kevin wasn’t part of the plan, but in his haste to avoid the Supreme Being’s anger, he inadvertently joined them and followed them through the portal. To elude the Supreme Being’s retribution, they swiftly made their getaway via the portal.
Time-traveling adventures
The show delves into various historical eras, providing viewers with both learning and amusement. In the initial two installments, Kevin and his gang journey to Macau during the year 1810. There, they come across Chinese pirates under the command of Madame Chung. When the bandits try to flee, they face a narrow escape, brushing shoulders with these pirates. Kevin’s deep historical insight becomes crucial as he guides his companions through perilous situations.
In around 1500 BC, the next destination for Kevin and his companions is England. There, they observe the ongoing construction of the famous landmark, Stonehenge. Initially elated by this discovery, Kevin’s excitement fades when he uncovers that Stonehenge functioned as a rental site even during ancient times.
A journey to troy
In their upcoming escapade, the bandits together with Kevin wind up in Troy amidst the raging Trojan War. They attempt to pilfer the Trojan Horse, but instead find themselves ensnared within it. With Kevin’s assistance, they manage to avert the destruction of the house through a misunderstanding on the part of the Trojans before it is set ablaze.
Kevin’s journeys are filled with danger. In the second installment, an accident involving the time chart transports him 50,000 years back in the Ice Age. Here, he grapples with the risk of being deserted by bandits. This episode also delves into his encounter with the Mayan civilization. During this interaction, Kevin discovers the importance of skepticism, particularly when dealing with human sacrifices.
Fianna and pure evil
In this rendition, the narrative unveils Pure Evil, a sinister entity, during the changing of the seasons, who instigates the theft of a crucial map and dispatches Fianna the Huntress for its recovery. Fianna’s pursuits of Kevin and his bandit accomplices inject suspense and thrill into the plotline. The group ultimately makes their way back to Kevin’s residence in the year 2024 by episode 2’s end. Fianna then assaults Kevin’s unsuspecting parents, transforming them into charcoal. Overwhelmed with grief, Kevin pleads for a chance to travel back in time and save his beloved parents. Penelope consents to his request.
