In a fresh and somewhat edgy tune, blending a touch of grit with warmth, yes. A sea of dark, loose-fitting garments and hoodies, absolutely. Multiple firearms and explosions? Affirmative on both counts. Indeed, it seems we’re talking about the Thunderbolts*. The latest MCU ensemble, teetering between heroes and anti-heroes (or perhaps villains), has returned with a spectacular new trailer for their movie titled Thunderbolts*. The trailer made quite an impact during the Super Bowl, though it’s hard to imagine these characters caring much about the game itself. However, they certainly stole the show during it.

Despite my previous vow, I must admit that I’m pleased to see Bucky Barnes once more. It’s astonishing how Sebastian Stan’s portrayal of Bucky Barnes remains one of the original characters left standing. Who would have thought Bucky would hold such a position? Could it be that Bucky Barnes fans will finally witness their long-awaited Black Widow/Winter Soldier romance after all these years? Such a development would certainly carry a touch of the classic “Thunderbolts” irony if it were to occur. However, this “Thunderbolts” trailer doesn’t give much away on that front. But we’ll just have to wait and see.
The trailer, however, delivers an abundance of action. It showcases the entire Thunderbolts squad giving their all in this Super Bowl teaser. To clarify, this team includes Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Red Guardian (David Harbour), John Walker (Wyatt Russell), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus).

What’s Sentry currently doing? Let me explain the asterisk in “Thunderbolts”: It indicates a change or modification of some sort, possibly to the title or series, but the exact meaning isn’t clear yet. As for David Harbour, it seems he’s appearing in every movie trailer we come across these days. We can ponder these curiosities in our minds, while also considering the plot summary of “Thunderbolts” that we have: a team-up of Marvel’s most unpredictable characters.
In the movie “Thunderbolts,” Marvel Studios brings together an unusual gang of morally ambiguous characters: Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker. When they’re drawn into a deadly trap by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, these disenchanted outcasts are compelled to embark on a hazardous journey that will push them to confront the deepest shadows of their pasts. Will this troubled band of heroes tear each other apart or discover redemption and transform into something greater before it’s too late?
It’s undeniable that the trailer for Thunderbolts has a captivating allure. On May 2, 2025, we’ll undoubtedly find ourselves settled (with our coolest grunge outfits and darkest eyeliner) when Thunderbolts hits the screens. Despite their inability to fly and limited to just punching things, this team has managed to win our hearts.
