Throwback: When Ryan Reynolds Revealed Using THIS Acting Technique To Get Over Past Relationships

As an ardent admirer of Ryan Reynolds, I find his journey through love and relationships to be nothing short of intriguing. From faking tears to break up with girls, to his notable romances with some of Hollywood’s most beautiful women, Reynolds has certainly lived a charmed life.

Ryan Reynolds is recognized for his witty humor and outstanding acting skills, traits that extended to his personal relationships as well. Yet, unlike others, when it came to parting ways, Reynolds had a unique approach – he could cry on cue.

In an interview on Conan, Reynolds admitted to employing a unique tactic for ending relationships. He explained, “I can convincingly feign tears, which is quite deceitful. I can make myself cry.” He further shared that in his younger, less principled days, he might have ended a few relationships using this trick. This made him seem compassionate and facilitated the breakup process.

Before marrying Blake Lively, Reynolds had brief relationships with several famous women. Notably, he dated actress Melissa Joan Hart and singer Alanis Morissette. In the 90s, he was involved with actresses Kristen Johnson and Traylor Howard for a short period. Among his most recognized relationships was with Scarlett Johansson. They began dating in 2007, got married in 2008, and divorced in 2011 without disclosing the reasons behind their split.

When asked about remarrying, Reynolds shared, “I’m not sure I want to tie the knot again. A crisis can be beneficial; it jolts you awake. Let me tell you, I’ve changed quite a bit in the past six months.” Prior to his relationship with Lively, Reynolds was in a high-profile romance with actress Charlize Theron.

As a devotee recounting an extraordinary tale, let me share that during the filming of Green Lantern, I encountered Lively. Initially, we nurtured a friendship that blossomed further on a group outing, where we were accompanied by others. Over time, as Reynolds put it, our camaraderie served as the foundation for our love story’s development. Reflecting back, he described our first date as an explosion of sparks, though initially peculiar due to our long-standing friendship. “It was a rather peculiar night, like two fireworks crossing paths,” he mused. “At first, it seemed strange, but we had been close companions for quite some time. I believe the ideal approach to cultivate a relationship is by first forming a strong bond as friends.”

In 2012, they got married and have four kids together. Reynolds has explained what he thinks keeps their relationship strong. He also drew a comparison between it and his friendship with Hugh Jackman. He suggests that the key ingredient for a lasting Hollywood friendship isn’t much different from having a long-term partner or being in a marriage.

He goes on to say, “I’m always cheering you guys on from the sidelines. I hope you succeed. It’s much the same with Blake – I root for her too, and I know she feels the same about me. That’s why our bond is so strong.” Reynolds and Lively maintain a solid relationship built on respect and camaraderie, setting an example of what a lasting partnership should embody.
